I actually kind of love my dress

So, I wasn't one of those "dress moment" girls. I didn't cry, I didn't even have the AHA! moment. My dress was the first one I tried on and every one after that I kept comparing to the first one. I put the first one back on and said, "I love it, ring me up." I mean I did get a little carried away beause I bought the headband and the veil they put on me with no questions asked (that freaking headband was $100!), but I was OMGINLOVE with my dress.

I was even less in love with my dress when it came in and they had me try it on to make sure they ordered the right size. I didn't hat eit, but I didn't love it either. Even at my first fitting I was feeling BLAH about my dress.

I've heard of a lot of girls who love their dress until the final fitting and then they decide they hate it a few weeks before the wedding. I was exactly the opposite. I was okay with my dress right up until my final fitting, now I LOVE it. Maybe it was because it never really fit me right until now.

Re: I actually kind of love my dress

  • That is good to hear! Although I loved my dress when picking it, I began to wonder if I made the right decision over the next year... at my final fitting I felt better about it because it finally fit me... but I am the kind of person that likes to try things on in private to actually love myself in it. Plus it will be so much better with my hair and makeup and jewelry on the day of :)

  • Yay! That's awesome :) I bought a dress in August and decided in December I hated it...it's been a journey.

  • I'm glad you love your dress, i'm head over heels for mine lol

  • I loved my dress when I bought it in September, and through the first two fittings I was having second thoughts and not feeling so great about it. But during my last fitting, I pretty much fell in love with it again and can't wait to wear it next week! And it will be so much better when you have hair and make up done too.

Congrats on falling in love! :)
  • I felt the same way, tried about 45 dresses on to begin with, went with the untraditional dress... Like it when i picked it... the first 2 fittings were "blah, it's ok" pretending to love it.  At my final fitting, I went allow, it fit like a glove, had all the alterations and changes done.  And I think I love it now.  I think it has to do with expectations.  Not really sure, But I am so glad you finally fell in love.
