Double TY's

So I have a strange question I know at the wedding when people give you money you should write a TY after the wedding. Well what if they already gave you a gift and you sent a TY afterwards and then at the wedding they give you money. Should you send another TY?

I don't want people to end up with like 4 different TY''s from us.

Re: Double TY's

  • It depends I think, if they gave you a shower gift 3 months before the wedding and then a gift at the wedding definatly seperate ones, if they gave you something the week before and then at the wedding, I would combine it since it falls into the same reasonble time period, if they gave something way earlier though, I woud send seperate thank yous.

  • hmm, I'd say that it would be best to send another TY even though you already sent one for the first gift.

Was the first gift a shower gift? not a wedding gift? It seems odd (but awesome for you) that they would send you a physical gift before and then $ for the wedding unless it was intented to be a shower gift.

  • Yea, do the double thank you card. They're two separate gifts. That way you play it safe (and gracious) with an extra minute of your time. Since you'll likely be specifying what they gave you in each thank you card, it's okay that they receive multiples. Now, if someone gave you a physical gift at the rehearsal dinner and then cash in a card at the wedding I think it's okay to roll that into one.
