different idea for centerpieces

I am trying to think of different ideas for my barn wedding. I have seen lots of things done with mason jars (twine, burlap, lace) but havent fallen in love with anything yet. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.... But I came up with an idea I think I would like but not sure it even exists... has anyone ever seen small barrels that would sit on top of a table and hold flowers (not very tall maybe around 8inches-ish and maybe just like 5 inches-ish in diameter?) if so do you remember where you saw them?!

Re: different idea for centerpieces

  • Maybe check with a winery? I just did a quick google search and the only things that came up with huge wooden barrels and most of them were from winerys.
  • What about laterns? We got lanterns from ikea and they were 10 each super nice and can hold a big candle in it. Like she said check the wineries but some of them will want big money for stuff I asked on wine corks and they wanted an arm and leg.

  • I thought Oriental Trading might have something like that... Didn't see anything, though.  But - I did find this when searching for "barrels" on it... Haha

While I can't find any barrels, something we're doing (for our totally NOT rustic wedding, but could TOTALLY work for a rustic wedding) is using a cake for a centerpiece at each table.  The cakes we're getting serve 8 people, and we have 8 people at a table, but you could put however many you'd need per table, etc.  Then the cakes could be decorated in a "rustic" way and you'd save big $ on not having to order a huge tiered cake.  However, I know many brides WANT to have that huge tiered cake... Just another idea! :)

    Good luck!!
  • Maybe try Pat Catan's craft store -- if they don't have the barrels, they do have a lot of rustic craft items that might be some inspiration for centerpieces!

  • Thank you for all the ideas! I will check with a winery. The closest thing I came up with was vinegar barrels, but they're like 35 dollars each, which would cost quite a bit for 25 tables. I will keep looking and checking out all the new ideas as well!
  • What about flower pots? You may be able to find pots that are meant to look like barrels, or at least resemble them. As soon as it starts getting warmer outside I would start looking through all of the lawn/garden sections.
