Not Your Grandma's DJ- Need Opinions!

The FI and I have been going back and forth a LOT about band vs. dj. We've finally settled on a dj, because we're kind of music junkies and would like to be able to have a wider selection of music than what a band could provide.

So- I've turned up an AWESOME group of dj's- Like real, old school, turn table using, making sweet beats dj's. Even better, my MOH is friends with one of them, has heard him spin, and really has liked what she's heard.

Do you think the older wedding guests would be okay with this? I'm going to ask the dj if he could play some more accesible stuff at the beginning of the evening and work in some specific stuff that we'd really like to hear, and then let him do his thing for the dancing portion of the night... I'm just not sure how well recieved this kind of dj might be- Thoughts?
