Paying for e-pics?

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for e-pics?

Our session was included in the package we purchased for the wedding, but to buy the digital rights to the images, it will cost $200. To buy the rights to an individual image, it costs $25, and to just get prints, it costs from $7 and up, depending on the size.

I was planning on making a guest book on shutterfly, and using about 25 images (image on one side of the spread, space for guests to sign/leave messages on the other side).

I guess I assumed I the e-pics would be included in the fact that we're paying for the rights to the wedding pics, since the session was included, but its not the case.

  • hemm.. I would try to talk to photographer down. negotiating is helpful in these situations.
  • If you get the rights to the pictures, can't you print them as much as you want? Mine prices are pretty much exactly like yours..

  • Our e-session is included in our wedding package, as well as a hi-res CD with rights to print up to 5x7 (for both).
  • Our session and a disk of all the edits/prints were included in our package

  • Ours were $150, but it went towards our wedding package, because if you buy a wedding package, the e-pics are free :)

  • Sabrina- Yes, if we buy the rights we can do whatever we want with them, including as many prints as we like. I think it's worth it, and $200 seems like nothing to me right now, but I don't want to set the precedent that another $200 here and there is ok... haha.

  • Ours is going to be $175, which includes the rights to all the pictures, 2 locations in 2 hours & an album for the reception. This is separate from our wedding package. We wanted to try her out before we book because she isn't technically a professional even though her pics are great and she's done a lot of weddings already.
  • mine were included in my package
  • Mine is $100 and we get the rights to the Cd

  • My pictures are supposed to be tomorrow if it doesnt storm. We are paying $50. She is going to give us the cd with release of rights. We moved up the time so she has plenty of time which I guess means unlimited. We are doing at least two different locations and changing at least twice. I might change once more in the car in between places as well.
  • I think ours is $300 for the e-session, but to get the disc it is between $200 and $300.

Haha, ok I don't feel bad anymore... gotta love the difference cost between Massachusetts and the rest of the country. I feel so vain spending $200 for a few REALLY good pictures of FI and I, but its worth it :)

  • $150 base price...to inclued 1 -11x14 & 24 proofs.  We also paid a fee for her traveling though.  For an advance copy of the CD with printing rights only $30!  If we wait till after the wedding the CD would have been free.  We just got to see the photos & they are amazing!! She had about 202 shots for us!  We spent hours traveling around getting photos in various areas.
