Is it bad that my DJ creeps me out?? This is the first time that we've met face to face, but this company received Best Of 2012 on Weddingwire.com so I thought it would be great! FI and I met with the owner and the guy who is actually going to be doing our reception, and the actual guy kept staring at me!!! Like a really creepy stare....FI thought they were both creepy, but with 9 days to go and them totally paid for, I guess it's too late to change now. The on'y plus side to this I can see is that my venue has a mezzanine level up above which is where the DJ will be so no one will actually have to SEE him......

Also, is it normal for DJ's to have no personallity in person but then "turn it on" when they get to work? I really hope that is the case because otherwise, this isn't going to end well...

Ugh, I hate when you have to deal with creepy people!  There is this guy who's been working on a problem computer in our lab...he always has this crazed look on his face.  Some people are just awkward, and I don't think it has anything to do with the situation...they are just like that all the time! LOL  I'm pretty sure you won't be worried about him on your wedding day...like you said, he'll be stashed away where no one can see him, and as long as he plays good music you'll be fine.

Agree - I wouldn't stress. I'm sure he is a very good DJ and you'll have a great time!!

I'd be careful about those "Best of"s.  A lot of vendors pay for those titles and recognition.  If you notice, the $h!tty family florist shops in your hometown might have a "Knot Pick" or "Best of 2010" or something.

I picked my DJ based on recommendations from other brides and a process of elimanation from companys I didn't like. I haven't been face to face with my DJ yet and I am so nervous of this. I always talk to the owner on the phone and have yet to figure out if he will be doing our wedding or not. I have a feeling it will be a creepy guy but at the same time I'm not really worried because I have seen this company at work.

My sister's wedding DJ was a total creep and wouldn't stop hitting on the MOH (getting married the following weekend) during set up, but as soon as the actual dancing got started he was great and everyone had a great time. Don't stress, like you said noone will see him!
