I am making cookies as favors/place cards, and was thinking either shortbread or sugar cookies. How far in advance can I make them? I also need to decorate them, as some will be in the shape of a lighthouse, and some will be in the shape of Martha's Vineyard. I'm not going crazy with them...just white frosting of some kind with blue outlines. The wedding is the 12th, and we are leaving for the island on Thursday, and will have Wednesday before we leave off. I don't want to spend the whole day baking and decorating cookies. Luckily, I am only making 30. I'm putting them into those clear bags and attaching a place card with ribbon.
1. How far inadvance can I make these cookies?
2. which are tastier- sugar or shortbread?
3. What would you use for frosting/icing? I don't plan to write on them
4. where do I find those clear bags (can't seem to locate them)?
