Hi everyone, I'm Ashley! I noticed a lot of intros have been made this week, so I thought I’d join. I've been watching the boards since my engagement in February. I posted once regarding venues and received some very helpful feedback.
My fiancé’s name is Craig and he proposed on February 10 on the ice at Rockefeller Center. The night was completely perfect.
We both are originally from Pittsburgh (and all our families still live there) and are planning our wedding for there - July 13, 2013 at Lingrow Farm in Leechburg - but we live in northern NJ now. Craig has been here since 2003 and I moved out in 2010. We have been together for 3 years now. We met through his younger brother's wedding. We were Maid of Honor and Best Man in their wedding - and they are now going to be our Matron of Honor and Best Man for our wedding.
We just decided on a photographer this week . We still need to find a florist, videographer, DJ, officiant, and all the other things that will make our wedding perfect. While I am planning from afar, I feel lucky being able to travel back and forth to Pittsburgh to take care of some plans.
I appreciate any and all feedback, advice, or vendor ideas that anyone has. I’ve already seen so many great ideas on the boards! Thanks everyone!

Hey Ashley! Coiincidentally my fianc and I are getting married at Lingrow the Friday before your wedding, July 12, and the date your fianc proposed to you is my FIs bday lol. So we should definitely trade ideas! We just booked our photographer today, Loren DeMarco. Who is yours? Other things we have booked so far are Pifemaster Productions for DJ and Steven Vance for a string quartet. I'm excited to hear more about your plans!

Welcome to the boards!  I have booked several vendors already, all of whom I am very excited about. I have listed them below in case you want to check them out. Just some advice from one bride to another... plan early!  You would not believe how fast vendors book up... especially the really good ones!

DJ and Uplighting:  Otto Productions

Officiant - Rev Mark of A Simple Vow

Videographer/Cinematographer      - Jonathan Ryan Films    ( sooooo excited for this, he is amazing).

Brooke Rockwell for Hair  and claire from  cielcosmetics for makeup.

Rooey - wow! What are the odds?!? I love Lingrow, I can't wait. We booked The Brand Studio to photograph the wedding. We have our engagement session scheduled for Sept and I can't wait to work with them. I'm fairly certain I'm doing turquoise dresses for my girls and bright and light pink flowers. I love that it'll be the middle of July and I can do bright colors.
Eddiesgirl - I'll have to look into them. Thank you so much for the vendor info I really appreciate it!

Congratualtions on your engagement!  Mine is almost over  - yay August 24! - and so far here are the vendors I am head over heels for:  Bistro To Go for catering - Nikki Heckman is a genius, and that is a fact.  From budget to extravagant affairs, she is one of the most creative chefs I've ever met, and has a true belief in utilizing the community as well.  She's designed for us an extremely colorful alfresco dining experience, and I can't wait to enjoy every second of it.
We bought our desserts from Soergel's Orchard and Bakery in Wexford, Pa, and Eric Voll has been a dream to work with. Very family oriented, and very generous.  They designed our pie bar.
Ray Keller at Entourage DJ was the very first vendor I booked, and has been completely professional and doesn't mind my phone calls.  Needless to say, I love him.
General Rental Center is providing all of our tents, chairs, linens, etc, and Heather has been my friend and confidant throughout this whole process.  She is a gift and an asset to her employer, and I hope that they know just how special she really is.  She has been completely attentive and accomodating through our venue change andcrazy guest list.  I would use all of these people again in a heart beat.  Good luck with your planning!

Ash Your colors sound sooo pretty! The Style Me Pretty blog has a lot of good ideas and you can search by color if you're looking for some inspiration. Also the Brand Studio seems really great. I loved Sarah and Andrew's Lingrow wedding that they had on their site. I think I may have stalked every photog who has been to lingrow by now lol. But anyways, good luck with your planning. If I come across something that might be helpful for you, I will let you know!

Rooey - it's like you read my mind. I got my color ideas FROM Style Me Pretty! haha!! I pretty much have done the same. Sarah and Andrew's wedding was the one I showed my Mom when I booked Lingrow Farm for the wedding, before I even thought of photographers! lol I'm right there with you!

Hi Ash! Congrats and welcome! I just moved to Northern NJ (I think, lol) from Pittsburgh!

We currently live in Phillipsburg, NJ but may move to Stroudsburg, PA in a few months when his lease is up.  Where are you at in NJ?

Hello You're south of me - I'm up by the George Washington Bridge. Right across from NYC. Ridgefield Park is our little town. lol It's a whole different world from Pittsburgh!!
