those of you doing b-pics...

how are you presenting them to your FI?

i wanted to do an album to give him, but first of all (believe it or not) i couldn't find a photo album that i liked at Michael's.  i just wanted a nice 5x7 album that didn't have "photos" or "family" plastered all over the front and sides.  the scrapbooking albums are all the wrong size for what i want.  i love scrapbooking, but with 5 weeks left, i don't have time for all that...

so i started looking into doing a photobook from some place like shutterfly (or wherever... maybe try to find a place that had a groupon deal going on).  but i'm not sure how private they keep the photos and who may or may not see my pictures.

my photographer has an option to make me a book, but it costs $Texas... so, i won't be going that route.

so, what are YOU doing?!

If you are going to print through a lab, I recommend Mpix.com. It is the sister company of a very popular lab for photographers and for the most part, offers the same products. I order my boudoir products through the sister company all the time and have met many of the owners at conferences, etc. I'd recommend them anyday over Shutterfly, mypublisher, etc.

Here is the link to the albums you can use:

I will probably make a photo book through snapfish.  They are the only way we make photo albums nowadays.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I second mpix.  That was what I was planning on doing.

I would do a photobook online. They have many options as far as decorating.

  • i like the photobook idea, but my biggest concern is how safe are the pictures?  i don't want some perv to get a hold of them or anything...

    maybe i'm just paranoid.

I used Pictage (my photog's image host site) to desing a calendar. I've got a black photog box to put it in too. Now the only questions is WHEN to give it to him?? We're spending the night together the day before the wedding...so i'm not sure when would be a good time. I'm thinking maybe right after the first look...suggestions???

oh, we're not spending the night together before the wedding so i'll give it to him then.

i was going to have his BM deliver it the morning of the wedding, but decided i would give it to him the night before so he could enjoy it without all the guys around.  :-P
  • Mpix prints the most impressive pictures. I ordered all of our engagement shots through them. I was most impressed with the quality of the prints. Definitely worth the extra money.

<div>I'm sure it's fine.  I'm not really concerned about some random person working for a company no where near where I live is going to do anything with the pictures.  They probably print out thousands a day, I'm sure you won't be the first to print something a little sexy, either.  Let's face it, I'm no Victoria's Secret model.  They'll probably "meh" and then move onto the next printing batch, lol.  And on the off chance some perv keeps them for his private stash, I guess I'll take it as a compliment.  I highly doubt anyone would share anything that could be traced back to a reputable company, anyways.</div><div>

  • I wish I could get an album through one of those sites...my photo session was pretty inexpensive so I don't have digital copies of any of the photos unless I wanna pay $500 extra. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the album printed through them and they verify that the printer keeps photos and names confidential for $225.

I'm thinking of giving it to him right after the RD the night before or having a BM deliver it to him right before the ceremony.

  • I use Blub to make photo books. You make them on your own computer and only upload to make the book. They are pretty inexpensive and look beautiful when done. I make one of DD every year to give as gifts. I plan to use it this as well when I get my B pics done as I bought the rights to my photos.

<div>that is why i suggest MPIX. I order all my clients boudoir stuff their MPIX's sister company and have been for 5 years now. Not once have I had a problem at all. I have been on a couple tours they since they sponsored some of my speaking events, etc. </div><div>Great owners, awesome staff! MPIX is just the sister company- based towards everyday consumers. The stuff is all printed in the exact same place.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, the quality is WAY better than snapfish or mypublisher, etc. Because, once again, its just the sister co. of a lab geared towards pro photographers- all same printers, etc. :)</div>
  • mpix also have a lot of photographers print through them too so honestly, a boudoir session is nothing new for them to see. Last time I was at one of their labs, they told me they sometimes get up to 200 boudoir orders a day....of course, nothing compared to wedding orders but it's not really going to stand out...they have already seen it all lol
