I thought we were all set- Vent :-/

I got a voicemail yesterday from the Church where we're getting married saying that we still have some peperwork to fill out before we can get married. Really?

In the last year, we've met with the Pastor of the Church twice. We've met with the priest who is marrying us twice. We've met with the musicians. And I've exchanged countless phone calls and e-mails with our priest, the wedding coordinator, and the secretary there. 

And 9 days before our wedding, after I've been told that we're all set, you call me to tell me that we need to drive an hour and half there to fill out more paperwork.  Why didn't we fill out this paperwork at one of our previous meetings?

I felt pretty good about where we were at with all the little details, and now I have to take out a good chunk of a day to do paperwork that should have been done months ago.

I'm just so stressed out now and annoyed. I really wanted to get married at this Church but they've given us nothing but trouble from the start. I've been calling to schedule a meeting and figure out what we need to do, and now I can't get a hold of anyone there.

Long distance weddings are annoying. I'm headed about the same distance tomorrow night to meet with our venue because I'm too much of a control freak to let my mom go to the final meeting instead.

Can you see if the church will email you the paperwork, and you could scan and return it? Just tell them how far away you are, and that you have absolutely no time to get there on such short notice.

I agree with PP. I would have them email you the paperwork and you can scan and email it or fax it back. Our venue was and hour drive plus a half hour ferry ride, so we did everything by email. Worked out just fine. And this will work out fine too. Good luck.

Thanks ladies. I'm definitely going to try and have it e-mailed, but it sounded like he wanted us to actually go there for some reason.
 I finally got through to someone there, and the pastor won't be in at all today so I won't be able to figure out what we need to do until tomorrow at the earliest.  ::sigh::
