Somewhat NWR: Cameras!

Its about time to update my camera, preferably before my honeymoon. What kind of cameras do y'all have?

Re: Somewhat NWR: Cameras!

  • What kind if camera do you want? At Christmas I bought a DSLR Nikon D3100. I can use it as a simple point and shoot, or I can get fancier if I want and eventually I'll add another lens to it. It's certainly not a camera I can fit in my pocket. I do have a digital Nikon that is small with 5x zoom. That I can fit in my pocket.
  • I have a Sony Panoramic...perfect for trips etc. We end up using our camera phones 1/2 the time lol

  • I have a Canon Powershot.  Takes nice pictures, and at the same time I don't have to be super careful with it because it's not an extremely expensive camera

Something that can take clear pictures haha... I noticed when I looked at some pics on my current camera, that they were kind of blurry, even with a flash. I'd prefer something that can fit in my pocket b/c of things like trips where I need to be traveling light. I'd love to invest in something bigger though for events, parties. Something I may do after the wedding is look into some photography classes so that there's at least one person in the family that can take a decent picture.

I'd love to just take pics with my phone, but I have a crackberry :/

  • The Canon Elph line is fantastic. It takes great shots on auto mode, but you can also use manual mode to get even better pics.

  • I have had two Panasonic Lumix cameras (I only got a new one to upgrade my pixels) and couldn't have been happier with them. The Lumix line uses Leica lenses, which are pretty amazing.

  • I have a Sony Cyber-shot. I really like it! The pictures are clear, and its pretty thin. I don't think it was too expensive. I'd definitely buy another one.

  • just make sure that it doesn't use normal AA or AAA batteries.  Get one that comes with it's own battery and charger!

  • Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll look at these and see what looks the best :)

  • I have a Nikon CoolPix L100. I love it! I got it for x-mas and it is a little on the expensive side, but it takes amazing pictures!

Honestly, these days digital cameras are amazing, you really can't go wrong with any of the major brand ones.
