Phipps Catering

Hi, All-

I'm planning a wedding at Phipps for 2011. Is anyone familiar with Phipps Caterers and can they tell me about their experiences with them?

    Do you know who the caterers are?  Even if someone didn't use Phipps, they may have experience with the caterer.

    The caterer is actually called Phipps Catering--apparently you have to use them to have a wedding at Phipps in 2011.

    Oh - sorry I thought they had a few different outside caterers to choose from.  Sorry - I did have my wedding there, but my reception was elsewhere so I didn't use them.

    I am pretty sure Big Burrito also caters at Phipps, at least for non-wedding events- is this correct?  We are considering having our rehearsal dinner there with Big Burrito catering.  They run the cafe there too.

    Other than that, I'm not familiar with Phipps Catering.

    No, I was told that in 2011, they are working exclusively with Phipps Catering.

    I loved it!  We had the ceremony outdoors.  It rained that morning so we ended up under the tent.  I was initially a bit disappointed, but it was still a beautiful setting.

    They are a bit over the top about time, so be prepared that they will kick you out at the allotted time, whether you are ready or not, so make sure you plan your time there accordingly.  Although they may not be as bad for the reception since they will probably be closed at that time.  That was the only issue I had, and it was fairly minor in the grand scheme.

    I think that their in house caterers run the cafe now.

    Hi! I am also having my wedding at phipps, but in september 2011. When is yours? They did not tell me I had to use their catering, but rather I had to choose from a list of 4. Phipps catering is on the list and I do plan to meet with them to see what they are all about. Are you only able to use them?
