FI's great-aunt (his grandmother's sister) called him this morning to let him know that she would be coming to our wedding in 7 DAYS! He texted me saying that she is now coming to the wedding... she was literally calling to RSVP herself, and FI just said "oh okay" (he claims it was literally first thing this morning and he kind of thought that she was just calling to say how excited she was to come, forgetting she was a no). I sent him rapid fire texts explaining it's too late, WTF is she doing, why didn't she let us know sooner, etc...
He then talks to FMIL who then said that she talked to FI's grandmother and she said that her sister was not coming, but then this week the aunt said she was now able to come. FMIL told grandmother that it was too late to RSVP, as the date was 2 weeks ago.
Yes, FI messed up, he should have explained to his aunt that she wasn't able to come, but she was kind of rude to ask after FMIL told her no... oh well FI said his mother will handle it
I am kind of bummed because I like this aunt, but come on people! RSVP on time!
