Hair Stylist Drama!!!

The girl I got to do my hair is a friend of one of my BMs. She is a very talented stylist but she is totally flaky and I don't know how much I can depend on her. It has been so hard to get in to get a trail done with her and when I did have it done, I hated my hair On the day of the wedding 5 girls will be getting their hair done which includes me. A (the stylist) wants to bring another girls along, J, to help with the day and I totally agree. I asked on the price she would charge us and she said $35 for updos and $20 for makeup which I thought was totally reasonable! I offered to get her a hotel room for Friday night so she didn't have to drive over an hour to get to the hotel early on Saturday morning and she said that would be great, the room is $85 for the night.

I get a text from her today saying that Posh (the salon she works for) typically charges $150 travel fee/stylist..... ummmm, say what?!?! She isn't doing this through the salon! From the very beginning she said that this was being done on the side to help keep the cost of everything down. She did say she would 'give me a deal' on the travel fee but I am still pissed!! Even if she only charges me $100/stylist that is still $200 extra that I need to come up with on top of the hotel room!! I know I shouldn't expect her to come for free but getting a free hotel room for a night and making $100+ per stylist for three hours of work sounds pretty good to me!! Let me mention that she has known since January about the wedding and never once mentioned anything about paying a travel fee until now!

So now I don't know what to do... I basically have two options. I either suck it up and pay whatever extra she is going to charge me (even though I don't know where the money will come from) or I tell her I can't afford her and beg a salon in the town we are getting married in to do 5 girls hair on Memorial Day Weekend. Ugh!!!!!!!!! Girls, what do I do?!?! I need your help here!!! In the year plus that I have been planning our wedding, THIS is the one thing stressing me out!!!!!!! HELP ME!!!!!

I would start calling other salons before you reply. Is there an Ulta in your town? We did it there and it was 60 for hair and 30 for make-up.

Even if you can't get another place I would remind her of the original terms and let her know that if you must pay the travel fee then you cannot afford the hotel room.

UGH! That SUCKS!!

Can your BM, the stylist's friend, talk to her? Maybe she can negioate with her and be blunt that springing an extra $300 bucks on you right now is crazy! Especially after you offered her a hotel room.
