May 2012 Weddings

in need of advice.

so i want to tell u alll about my first wedding to my hubby and get some advice.   we got married september 2004 and it was horrible we got married in the courthouse and then all went out to eat. at the ceremony my hubbys brother diddnt even show up because they decided that a wedding in a courthouse was a waste of there time.but they sure diddnt think it was a waste of time to come and eat.his wife and kids were just plain rude to my family. to this day they think they are better than my family. we have now decided to renew our vowels so we can have the wedding of our dreams and are so excited it is only 4 months away.now we have decided that my brother in laws wife and kids will not be invited to our event. more reasons we are thinking of not inviting them is because there is no way at all they would just come and not start drama. these people have talked so much drama about me my hubby and children its been crazy. calling me nasty things and saying my children diddnt belong to my hubby and then saying my hubby was cheating and had another girl and a kid on the way. which i know is impossible because when they said all this my hubby and i wernt even in the us we were in Mexico on vacation. we have not talked to this lady and her kids since 2005 because every time we try to be sivalized they have to act all childish like they have absolutely nothing else to do but ruin up others life. what dose eveyone think we should do in this situation? we really dont want our wedding to be ruined and know it will be if she comes.

Re: in need of advice.

  • I am stuck on you "renewing your vowels" lol, never heard of a vowel renewal before and I immediately thought of wheel of fortune

back to you question...if you are inviting the brother, you have to invite the wife too, as much as you don't like her. She won't be the only person at your VOW renewal, so I'm sure even if she starts any drama, you can just step away and chat with other family/friends who are there.

everythime we have tried be sivalized she blows a fit about me and my kids saying all these lies. and she seriously will fallow u around asking us why we are not telling the truth to things they made up. so its not really possible to step away from someone who will fallow u. and at my twins birthday  she was just plain crazy ive never seen a grown adult act so childesh staring a scene.
  • They are a unit that have to be invited as such, it is very rude to not invite her if you are inviting her husband.

I also recommend spell check, it is your friend...

  • I agree, she's your SIL and should be invited. I wouldn't worry about her bugging you too much. There will be a lot of people there that day so I doubt she'll be able to corner you, and if she does make a scene that reflects poorly on her, not you. If you're that worried about her ask your WP to pull you away anytime they see the two of you together.
