* Monday 5/2 Accountability!

I'm back kiddos, time to get back on track!

Newbies: we do these posts to hold one another accountable for fitness and diet especially leading up to the big day!

Yesterday: we got home around Noon and cleaned the house for quite some time and I did Insanity Max Cardio Circuit (30 mins of it before I had to be at work at 6), felt a ton better after sitting in a car 2 days!
B - Ham + pancakes (FILs insisted on making B, so I didn't eat much the rest of the day)
L - Venison sausage + sweet potatoes (FSIL's husband made the sauage, really yummy!)
D/Post workout - Protein shake + fruit cup

Today's plan - it's a 2-a-day!!
B - Chobani Pomegranate
MS - nuts
L - roast beef and chicken on whole wheat sammich
W/O - Insanity Max Cardio Circuit (whole 60 mins)
AS - apple
D - TBD
PM W/O - Insanity Fit Test w/FI and 2 mi run

  • I was going to make a separate post, but figured you ladies are the right ones to ask...

How do you stay motivated to get all those workouts in?? Of course, I want to look my best for FI, both on our wedding day, and every day, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather spend time with him than at the gym.

We don't live together, but we spend every day at either my apartment or his... we make dinner together, and either spend the evenings hanging out watching TV or going out with friends or going to hockey games. We both LOVE food, but we're getting better at making healthier meals and healthier choices when we go out. We are moving in together at the end of the summer, and we'll get an eliptical so I can work out and we'll be going for more walks, but my goal was to start really getting in shape now, so I have a full year to develop a good routine and tone up. Before I met FI, I was doing pretty well... i was about 12 lbs lighter than I am now, because I went running and to the gym at least 3-4 times a week.

I know we can try to find exercise activities to do together, and we do sometimes, but I'm looking more for advice on how you handle your time to be able to spend time with your FI but still make time for working out!

    TIA

  • Good question, Audrey -
Here's my perspective: FI and I work together and our gym is at work. We MET at the gym in the first place so fitness has always been a big part of our lives separately and together. We take lunch together every day to work out and sometimes work out again or in the evening together. If I have meetings, etc. I go without him and vice versa but that's rare. We take the dog on walks together and even do our Insanity DVDs together.
You can see workout out as another way to spend time together. If he's not into it atleast ask to take a nice long walk, etc. together....it can eventually build into a run! Walking or jogging together is a great way to talk about the day, etc. without being stuck in the house.
If you are to workout separately try to wake up a bit earlier to get in atleast 30+ minutes of exercise in...or if you can, do it on a lunch break.

    Hope that helps!

  • For me its a little easier because I work 2nd shift and FI works 1st shift... So right when I wake up I sit around for about 15 to 20 mins then I go workout... I have my days when I dont want to workout but I go anyway... I think what is keeping me motivated is the changes that I am seeing in my body and the fact that I am going dress shopping in a few months... I can say that 2 months ago I could not run any longer than 1:00 min without dying... Now I can run for long periods of time... Now I feel weird for not working out... and this Accountability post believe it or not does wonders!!!!

  • Oh boy it's Monday

The weekend I was bad,  I didn't really eat much of anything (way tooooo pissed)
I did have quite a few drinks Sat night though and no working out

Yesterday I had a boiled egg

    TODAY:
    B- granola bar & banana
    L- Salad
    D- don't know yet

    W/O don't know yet lol

As for upping the calories.  I felt so ungodly full Friday that it made me sick.  So I don't think it's going to work out for me

@Audrey. I know how you feel! FI & I work opposite shifts. I get out of work at 5pm, he goes in at 6pm, he's asleep when I get up and go to work. When we do get to spend time together we usually try to take the dog for a nice long walk. It's exercise and we still get to spend time together and catch up. We try to motivate each other and that's worked out pretty well so far.
