Addressing Invites?

I plan on writing all the address on the front of the invites.  If you wrote the address on the front are you also writing your return address on the back?  Just wondering if I have to write both or if I could print one and write the other.  What do you think?

Re: Addressing Invites?

  • I think the return address should be on the back.

If you can, I'd try and send the envelopes through the printer and put the return address on the back. It can be done in any writing style you want and it doesn't have to match the front.

Our invites have the return on the back in all uppercase plain font. The front will have handwritten/script font.

  • Ours is on the front. The return and the actual address. Both are printed though! I don't think it really matters. I have seen both ways.
  • I bought labels (that match our invitations) for the return address on the back.  We will only be printing the addresses of the recipient on the front.

I have seen it done both ways.

  • We put a printed return address label on the front & hand-wrote the addresses on the front as well. They look fine IMO!

  • Our return address is on the back flap, and the recipient's address is on the front.  We used our printer to do both.
  • Honestly I dont think there is anything wrong with printing both. So I think whatever you are wanting to do is fine.
I printed both addresses on the front of the envelope and they turned out great.

  • I did the return on the back because that's what is typically done with wedding invitations.

  • I ordered through Vista Print and they printed the return address on the back.

I never paid that much attention to wedding invite envelopes that I have received to even notice.

  • I printed both addresses on the front.  They all looked great to me.  I also did the same on the return RSVP.  I've seen it done both ways, so I think which ever you prefer will be just fine.

  • we wrote both addresses on the front...in this day and age people are stoked about getting "real mail", I dont think anyone will even notice tbh. Usually if i get an invite to a wedding I dont even look at the envelope more then to make sure my name is on it..then i rip it open and throw the envelope out..it really doesnt matter

  • Thank you!  Sounds like most people are printing both....I may rethink what we are doing.
