Colors?

I just got engaged and have been thinking about getting married in spring 2013. I haven't set it for sure in May, but so far that's what I'm thinking. What do you think about pink, yellow, and aqua for colors? And with a vintagey/rustic theme? I want to use a lot of mason jars and glass bottles and stuff and I just didn't know if all that went together? Any advice is appreciated!!!

You might want to post this on the newly engaged board or the May 2013 board, since most of us are in the final stages of our planning and aren't really thinking along these lines the same way you are.  

I am not the best at combining colors with rustic because I tend to lean more on the modern side of things.  I like the mason jars/glass bottles idea though, just couldn't honestly tell you if those colors would be the perfect fit.  I see more burnt orange, browns, sage greens and maybe golden yellow for rustic, but that's just me.  

Congrats on your engagement!!  Such a wonderful time in your life - enjoy the planning, it flys by quicker than you think!

Congratulations on your engagement!!  Your colors sound great!  I think you should check pinterest and start building idea boards.  You might find you change your mind several times between now and then; especially when you see really unique ideas that other people are doing.  A lot of us here did that.

That's pretty much my wedding, except I am using light blue rather than aqua, and only a little bit of pink. I thought the softer color looked a little more vintage or rustic or something, but that is just personal taste, so go for it!
 
If you are looking for ideas, I am using mason jars as vases for daffodils in my centerpieces with wide flat lace around the middle of them and then light blue ribbon tied in a bow around that. (Like the thing everyone has pinned on pinterest with the burlap and green ribbon around a mason jar, except with lace and blue ribbon, if you are familiar with that). They came out really cute and kind of vintage/rustic, and all I had to pay for was the lace and ribbon- about 15 dollars for the whole project (I am on a really tight budget). I am not using glass bottles, but I am planning to use metal lanterns on my cake table and on some outside tables where I will have a coffee bar set up in case people need a break from the inside reception space. I think they go pretty well with the whole theme, and my mom has a few of them sitting around her house anyway.

Congrats on your engagement! I think those colors sound really pretty. We are using aqua and coral, so I am partial to aqua. We changed our minds about colors a couple times. I just googled "aqua, pink, and yellow wedding" and some pretty inspiration boards came up! Love those colors for spring, just make sure it's not too Easter-y.
