My MOH dress saga continues. This is the dress that I ordered for my sister in late December - still don't have it and yesterday found out why I don't.
So last week I decided to contact the manufacturer myself to find out where this dress is as I am tired of hearing, don't panic or worry. It's coming and getting nowhere. I find out that the local store told them that the dress didn't get ordered until FEBRUARY because they received a bounced check. Really? Cause I paid with a credit card and the charge came through the day we were in there! What nerve. Now I get a call this morning from the owner (I didn't tell her what I found out from the manufacturer) and she tells me that it didn't get ordered until February because the girl that ordered it ordered it incorrectly and when she realized it she didn't tell the owner and just reordered. Um, ok?! So I knew my wedding planning was going to smoothly....
Here are my options
1. The dress as ordered is scheduled to arrive at our store on the 13th. The owner will overnight it to my sister in DE delivery 16th. (this is of course contingent on that THIS is correct information) Sister can get it altered (store will pay all costs including all overnight mailing) and then overnight it to CA for wedding.
2. Store will refund me the money and sister can go shopping for another dress. Sister still has to get it altered and mailed down to CA but dress shop will not pay for that (wrong!). I'm trying to find a wholesaler in my sister's area to even see if they would have the dress there that she could just buy outright.
I'm just speechless at this point and trying to figure out the best option and least amount of stress for my sister. She shouldn't have to go through searching for another dress and dealing with last minute alterations....but here we go!
Any thoughts and ideas are so much appreciated right now.....
