I had a very successful trip to Alfred Angelo this weekend. I ordered my dress and my mom and grandma ordered their outfits as well! Even got a free t-shirt! If any of you ladies plan on trying on some of their dresses, make an online appointment and you'll get an email for a free tshirt.
I tried the Ariele dress on first and it does not photograph well at all. My grandmother did not believe me when I told her that she has seen photos of that dress on me before. It is so much better in person that it had me scared for a bit that I wasn't going to walk out with a decision.
I then tried on the sapphire flowy dress. My grandmother's face was not lit up and my mom wasn't impressed either. This is the dress that both of them thought might be better than the 2100 one that the majority of you ladies picked for me. My grandma even made a comment about how the first dress (Ariele) was so much more of a bridal gown and that this one was just too plain. Really worried me since the 2100 dress that I had went to pick up was not more exciting than the dress I had on.
The last dress I tried on was 2100, my top pick and the one I hoped my mom and grandma would love and tell me to go with. My mom loved it at first sight while my grandma needed a little bit of time to get used to it. In the end, both agreed that this one was to be MY dress.
It was my mom and grandma's turn to try on outfits. My grandmother almost stole one of my bridesmaids colors, but I convinced her to go with mocha. Her top is 7164 with 70707 skirt. My mom got to have her favorite purple color, eggplant. Her top is 7157 with 70708 skirt.
All the while FI was at a nearby Borders trying not to find out which dress we went with. He doesn't know that I placed an order for my dress yet. I have another appointment next Saturday to go BM dress shopping with my girls. He thinks (I hope) that I will be ordering something then.
I did have a mini scare when they went to place the order in, the consultant didn't know if it was available as a corset back. First time I tried it on I was told it was. Another consultant was able to find the info she needed to get me my dress the way I wanted it
Thank you ladies for your input on my poll. I am so very excited to have placed the order for my dress and can't wait for my first fitting. All our outfits should be here in about 12 weeks, at which point I get to have my mom and granma visit again so we can get fitted. Yey!!!
