Wedding Party gifts

So FI just ordered flasks for the guys and my brother (who is walking me down the aisle)

I ordered LL Bean Boat & Tote bags for each of the bridesmaids and the moms... these women don't wear jewelry, half are alergic to scents, some don't drink, and had to be portable for flying (sister is flying in from Japan) and I figured this would be something useful and something they normally wouldn't buy for themselves. I tried to pick colors/sizes they'd all like and I really hope they like them. I'd like to find something else to go with them but I haven't thought of something yet.

I do need to figure something for the readers and other help. Suggestions?

We will be doing photo books for everyone after.

<div>Well my first suggestion is to not refer to your friends and family as the help.  Ahem.</div><div>
    </div><div>
</div><div>For the something else and readers - shop for them individually.  Choose something suited to their individual taste.  Stay away from your wedding colors and monograms.</div>
  • For the guys we bought them handmade leather travel bags with their initials on them, some travel size toilety items to go inside, and then a 6 pack of their favorite beer.  Girls I bought them each a Coach wristlet, a bottle of their favorite wine, and then my mom made them each a earring/bracelet set to wear at the wedding (I guess not technically a gift, but whatever).

I know people say "shop like it's their birthday", but my friends and I never exchange gifts and although we know each other well I'd have o idea what to get them.

  • this bag will have a small bottle of perfume, a pair of earrings to wear during the wedding and 1 gift personalized to them. I am also buying them a manicure the day before the wedding.

  • I only have an MOH, and I got her a gold necklace with a wishbone, a little circle with her initial, and a pearl. It just got in the mail the other day and it's quite nice. I also bought myself one. I am also going to pay for her flower that she wants to put in her hair. Other than that, I don't plan to give anyhthing else. I just can't afford to give a bunch of stuff. I am not sure what FI plans to give his BM. I don't think he's found anything yet.
  • Ah... late night typo che789 as FI told me to get off the knot and to bed ;-) ... I meant to write the people who are helping us out.

My mom has friends that are volunteering to double check things from the vendors for me- they are Mom's friends not mine but they all do things like this for each other all the time so whenever I say... what should I get? my mom says... that's okay.

I have hired vendors to do 90% of the stuff so I am trying to make sure everyone just enjoys the day.

Bizarely enough every bridesmaid has actually had the same colors for her wedding that we have- blue and purple. But I got the bags in various colors according to current likes.

Maybe I'll look for books or something for the readers.

</div><div>Where do they like to go to lunch - maybe a GC for your mom and them to go out together?  Mani/Pedi gift certificates?  Either would be fairly safe gifts for people you don't know well enough to know their specific tastes.</div>
  • I got my BMs silk robes from etsy that in colors that they like (doesn't match my wedding colors exactly), a bottle of wine, and a cute frame to put a picture in afterwards. I purchased the traveling bag that Samanatha mentioned in her post for my usher.

I have no idea what the FI is doing for his groomsmen. His family/social circle actually does not usually do gifts for this kind of thing, so he's struggling lol. Two of them don't drink, so flasks are not really an option. We'll see how that goes.
