Future SD Boyfriend

Ok, so my future stepdaughter, age 16, has been dating this boy for 2 weeks - yes 2 WEEKS, I put in the final head count in on Thursday to the venue (wedding is this weekend 5/12) with the seating, etc.  She asks yesterday - via Text, yea - if she can bring her boyfriend.  Ok so, they are both 16 (in NJ not able to drive), she is my maid of honor and will be no where around for him until the reception starts at 1:00. Did i mention she is 16 and they have been dating for 2 weeks. Well Hubby-to-be said yes.  I am not even mad because she asked last minute (ok a little, no consideration) but, really, what am I supposed to do with this kid.  I have never met him, he will know noone but her and needs to get a ride to venue 1/2 hour from home (we can drop him off after) - becuase I have nothing to do from my wake up call at 5:30 AM til the cermeony at 11 AM), I told her sister and my son that they could not bring guests when they asked.  Really, I mean really - This is the frustration I was trying to avoid before the wedding.  What am I supposed to do with him from...  OMG I don't even know how he is getting there... from when he gets there til 1 pm... Thanks for letting me vent - ahhhhh

Oh no! What a disaster! I'm sorry! I would have said no, but sounds like you didn't have much say in the matter.  I wouldn't worry about him being an extra person because apparently 10% of people who RSVP yes still don't come, so no point in changing your final count.  However, he does need babysat, and that's the complicated part.  Maybe if he understood that he wouldnt ge the whole day with your SD he might even change his mind about coming. Or get his parents to drop him off.  I don't think this should be your problem- talk to his parents and maybe they can either talk him out of it, or take responsibility for his transportation.

Her father said "yes, bring your bf of two weeks to the wedding."? Weird. I think he would need to find how own ride there- maybe his parents can drop him off? It's not YOUR responsibility to make sure he can get there, or even get home after. Or even entertain him at the recpetion. IMO, he needs to find a ride and you shouldn't worry. You have enough, I think, on your plate that day. I'm honestly surprised a 16 year old boy would even WANT to go to a wedding of someone he doesn;t know.

Hes 16, he dosen't need babysat.  Him finding a ride is not your problem, and entertaining him is not your problem.

Annoying.  I'd tell him he could come on the condition he find his own ride there and back, this is the LAST thing you need to be worrying about on your wedding day!

This....he can find his own rides thier and home...and if he can't well then I guess he cant come can he. Shucks. (I wouldnt offer to take him home either)
