Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh

Hello!

I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi. My name is Kaytee and I live in the Mount Washington area of Pittsburgh with my fiance, Matt, and our two adorable puppies, Lorelai & Sebastian.

Matt and I are getting married on Friday the 13th, September 2013.Our colors are primary turquoise, brown and ivory with accents of olive green and royal purple. The primary concept is peacock feathers. They are beautiful and fun as well as being stylish and a throwback to the 1920's era.

Again I just want to greet everyone and I suppose say congratulations to all of you. I am having a blast planning everything. My wedding in is 14 months and I already have colors, themes, dresses, guests and invites pretty much worked out. I even have my dress decided on. The only major things we are missing are catering and a venue.

Which brings me to my next point. Matt and I have made it a personal challenge to keep this wedding as low budget as possible, while not looking low-budget. I am having trouble finding venues that are relatively close to home, have outdoor space, allow outside caterers and are relatively low cost.

I also am looking for a caterer that is reasonably priced and has exceptional food. I am half tempted to cook the food myself since our wedding headcap is a small 50 people, but that seems like a lot of undue stress on myself days before the wedding.

So I ask you guys or your suggestions. If you know of a venue or caterer that you loved, please let me know. The more options I have the better.

And my best wedding planning tool is Pinterest. It's an online pinboard where I keep everything saved to remember. My wedding pinboard can be seen at http://pinterest.com/kayteekatalyst/wedding/ if you're interested!

Thanks for your help,
Kaytee

Hello!  And welcome to The Knot!

First, I LOVE your color selections.  My fiancee and I just went to a wedding in upstate New York and they had a similar color palette.  And it looked stunning!

Second, it's extremely cool that you have so many details already picked out for your wedding.  Just make sure that you stay true to what you and your fiancee want and try not to let others input on things change your mind.

Third, you can have a really nice wedding on a tight budget.  My  number one suggestion would be to make sure you know exactly what you want and ONLY purchase that!  I've gone into so many stores (Michaels and Joanne's specifically), buying stuff that I MAY use or that I want to try out and I never end up using it.  Ugh.

Fourth, I cant give any advice with regards to a caterer because we didn't check any out.  But I will say that since you started working on all your wedding details so soon, that you may actually be able to handle cooking the food yourself.  Can you ask someone to help?  As you already know, making the food yourself will save you two a ton of money.

Fifth, your pinterest is AMAZING!  You are really doing a great job!

Lastly, good luck with the planning!  Things will come together and before you know it... you'll be walking down the aisle.
