Checks, concerns, and candy bar help! (PIP)

- Programs came in and look perfect! Yay!
- Had my second and apparently last fitting yesterday. It fits great, she forgot to remove an applique that I had asked her to so she will be doing that and and she is sewing in bust cups (cheapest boob job there is!) and finishing off the hem. She will also be pressing the dress before I see it again. She told me that we don't need to do another fitting and that I should just pick the dress up on the 18th when I'm leaving town on the 19th for the wedding. I'm a bit concerned about this...don't I need a "final" fitting? Am I just being silly about it?
- I finally finalized candy selections for the candy bar but having serious issues ordering! Initially I was going to order it all from candywarehouse but found better prices on amazon. Today I went in to check my cart and get ready to order and something was unavailable! How does something sell out in 24 hours? Ugh.
I also am not certain what size scoops I need. Any advice would be appreciated...here is what we're getting:

Squiggly pops - they come wrapped but I think we are going to unwrap them

Puffy poles jumbo marshmellows

Here's a size comparison so you have an idea of what they're like in person

Rock candy

Sour watermelon balls that are about the size of small gumballs

Pink lemonade airheads (keeping wrapped)

Haribo gummi grapefruit slices

Hershey's cookies n cream snack size bars (keeping wrapped)

So what size/type of scoops or tongs do I need for each? Does each candy need it's own serving utensil? TIA!

  • Not sure about serving utensils, but I would keep the suckers wrapped. They might look a bit better unwrapped, but I wouldn't take a sucker that wasn't wrapped because I'd have to eat it right away and/or because I like food in public places to be wrapped (not sure what your guests are like, so it might not apply to you anyways)

  • I would do one serving utensil for each candy.

I bought my scoops at the container store, they have 3 different sizes, and I went with the middle sized ones. I bought tongs at a local party store, so if you have a party store nearby, check and see if they have tongs, and even scoops!

I agree with PP, don't unwrap the lollipops.

Also, about your fitting, I only had 2 as well, and was told to pick up my dress 2 days before the wedding. I won't be trying it on that day because if its all nicely pressed and ready to go, I don't want to risk wrinkling it at all. If it makes you feel better, you could ask to pop in a week before to just see the dress, and make sure all the final things have been done to it.

  • I agree with PP, I would keep the suckers wrapped because they can get sticky. I love your candy choices. I have no idea about scoops either.
  • Congrats on the checks. I wouldn't worry about the dress, I only had 2 fittings, well technically 1 because the second was just to make sure it fits.
