guest shuttle

Hi everyone!

Just wondering if anyone else is planning on providing shuttles for their guests? And if so, what company you might have found?

I personally feel that if I am giving my guests a six hour open bar (yikes), I would like to also give them a safe way to get the the hotel that we've blocked rooms at!  I know other people have done this, and I am wondering what companies are out there that provide this service and how much  I need to buget for it!

We're getting 2 25 person shuttles from the Pittsburgh Transportation Group. So far they have been great and offered the best prices. We'll be using the, to shuttle guests from the Westin to church at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland then from church to the Carnegie Music Hall. Then they will run a loop from the reception back to the hotel for the rest of the night. It was actually cheaper to rent them for the full 8 hours in stead of splitting the time since they take into account the time from the garage to the location...and they still came in the cheapest quote.
  • Great. Pittsburgh Transportation Group. I will definitely look into that. Thank you!!
  • I'm just commenting on this so I can find it later :-)  I'm also looking into shuttle transportation and will be doing a very similar "loop" to manjermj.  We'll be doing Heinz Chapel to Phipps, then back to the hotel?  (still need to figure out the hotel block).

Manjermj:  When did you book your block at the Westin?  Have they been good to work with?

    Thanks :-)
  • I had a friends mom who does event planning book our block with the Westin, so everything has been really easy and smooth. I've heard great things from others using them though. We booked them right away about 6 months out from the wedding. (we're only having a 6 month engagement)  Plus they are setting up a free website where people can book their rooms online instead of calling.
  • Our hotel had a free shuttle to/from the reception site, but unfortunately the shuttle is already booked for our date.  We're using http://www.yourdesignateddriver.com/ as per a hotel recommendation.  In lieu of a limo we will have ydd drive us for photos pre-ceremony, drop us off at the ceremony and drive us to the reception, and then come and do two trips (like 10 & 11) from the reception back to the hotel.  Great price & they are willing/able to do split times.
