Following up from my post from yesterday regarding updating our programs after FBIL's passing (here is the post):
We're keeping his name where it is in the list of groomsmen, just graying it out a little bit. We already had a "in memory" section of the program. I've added him there like this:
Dustin XXXXXX
June 16th, 1981 – April 1st, 2012
Brother-in-Law of the Groom
Groomsman
Which is how we listed everyone else, but only he has the birth/death dates. So here are the 3 options to go with it:
1) Include a little blurb, similar to this:
We were shocked and deeply saddened by the unexpected and tragic passing of our brother-in-law several weeks ago. He is terribly missed by all who knew him, and especially so by us on our wedding day, which he was looking forward to greatly.
2) Put a quote like this under his name:
I left in love, in laughter, and in truth, and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit.
Bill Hicks
3) Write nothing else
Some people thought #1 was too sad, which I get, but at the same time I kind of thought I should write SOMETHING.
Thoughts?
