Teeth Whitening

I am wanting to whiten my teeth for my wedding.  I have decalification marks on my front two teeth.  I went to the dentist today for a check-up and talked to her about it.  She said that whitening should actually make those fade, or at least blend in.  Their at-home whitening kit costs $99.  I don't quite have $99 laying around and I was hoping to maybe buy an at home kit a little cheaper than that.

Have any of you used the various over-the-counter whiteners?  Which ones have you seen great results with?  Which ones would you never use again?

Re: Teeth Whitening

  • crest white strips work really well they range from $30 - $80
I used them BEFORE they had the advanced sticking power..so they didnt stick on my teeth well..but they now have that advanced power and apparently you can drink water while they are on.. (i havent tried it yet).
The whitening range from 1-5..i got the level 3 for $30.. Last time i got the 4 and it worked really well. my teeth arent that bad, but since i coudlnt afford braces i wanted white teeth! lol

i havent tried any others! hope others can help you!
  • Baking soda & peroxide.
  • I have been using Colgate Optic White and it has really worked well for me and FI. Both of us have seen really great results! I also recommend Crest 3D white as well.
  • AurorasEnvy is a dentist, she would be the one to give you great advice on this! I know awhile back she posted on a topic similar to this and had tons of advice. Maybe PM her and see what she has to say.

  • I love the Crest White Strips. They do make my teeth sensitive while I am using them and for about a week after I stop using them but it's minor and I think it's a small price to pay for nice white teeth.

  • I heard there is a coupon for the whitestrips on their fb page. I am going to try them too. I figured I would start next month.

Let me know which one you buy, there are a few different types.

  • I've been using crest advanced whitening every other day and I've had good results so far. I'm also using Colgate optic white in conjunction of the strips. I use the strips at night before I go to bed and only drnk water after.
  • My mom is a dentist/American Dental Association spokesperson, and she always sends me the crest white strips when I talk about whitening my teeth. I know she also uses them.
However, I guess I would check with your dentist to see if they would have the same effect as the professional bleach since you aren't just trying to whiten them, you are trying to get rid of marks...
