ceremony venue sadness

My FI told me that he just wanted a small wedding in a park, lots of green trees, leaves, etc. That kind of decided our color scheme (apple green, ivory, black, with a touch of cobalt blue) and theme (botanical, mostly plants not a lot of flowers). there is a beautiful little park in my hometown (very secluded, private, with a beautiful staircase, a stream, little bridges, etc). FI looooooves weeping willow trees and there was a huge one right by the stream that we were going to get married under.

So my mom texted me yesterday afternoon to let me know that they drove past the park and a big storm friday night brought our tree down. Not just damaged, completely wiped out.

I know it's not the end of the world and there are plenty of other places in the park for the ceremony, but it's the place where I'd been imagining saying, "I do" for 7 months now...

Re: ceremony venue sadness

  • That's so sad :( I'm sorry that happened! You could check around for other parks who might have trees who survived the storm? But I'm sure the space is still beautiful and will look great for the wedding and noone will know there used to be a tree there!

  • That really sucks, I'm so sorry :( Your wedding sounds like it is going to be beautiful either way though!
