Ah!!! Envelope emergency!

So I am finally ready to send out my invites; I just have to seal the envelopes. Lo and behold...the darn things won't seal. I have stardream metallic envelopes. Did anyone else have this problem? What do you recommend? I don't really trust glue sticks--I have never thought they held permanently enough. Maybe double-sided tape? I don't want to ruin the look of my invites though...

I think double sided tape will be okay, just make sure you use thin enough strips that they won't show at all. Good luck!

I used a glue stick to attach my pockets on my pocket fold invites, which are out of very heavy cardstock. I tried 4 different double sided tapes and none of them held very well, so I tried a glue stick on my mom's advice, and it's the only thing that's held!

I got it at AC Moore - it's Pioneer brand extra strong embellisment glue stick. My mom swears by a 3M version which is basically the same, the Pioneer one was just cheaper. 

And good to know about the envelopes - we're using Stardream as well, so I'll have to make sure to test them before going and licking them all!

I would use scrap booking tape.

Mine didn't want to stick, either - but when I licked them I made sure they were plenty wet, but I let the glue get tacky for about 10 seconds or so before I closed it.  When I had to reopen them in the freezer (long story, haha) I used double stick tape to close them.  Both ways worked fine =]

Can you use a cute sticker to seal them shut?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I was so mad last night and didn't have the patience to look for something, so I superglued those babies shut! Haha, they're not opening now! (I left them slightly open on the top so a letter opener or finger could easily fit under the flap.
