May 2012 Weddings

I have 4 days!!!!!!!

I am feeling all types of emotions. i can't believe how time has flew. Does anyone have any last minute advice about trying to stay stress free and calm the day of the wedding.

Re: I have 4 days!!!!!!!

  • I have four days also!  It is exciting!

We'll have to wait for some seasoned commentators to give advice - people who have already had their weddings.
  • 4 days here, too! Unfortunately, most of the May 2012 brides are married now and this board is a virtual ghosttown...

However, if you read a bunch of the previous posts of people's "married" announcements, most of them do give advice.  And in a nutshell, it is "don't sweat the small stuff or things you can't control".  Congratulations!

  • Just relax as much as possible and remember what the most important thing is. Don't fret the small stuff :)

    Congrats!

  • Take something the night before your wedding...whether it is melatonin or Tylonel PM...something. I didn't sleep a wink and it was the most miserable night of my life. I am pretty sure it was longer than the entire week. My maid of honor stayed with me and offered me something, but I turned it down. I wish I had taken something looking back on it.

Also, just stay chill and remember what the day is all about. It will go beautifully.

Also...you are not going to want to eat the morning of...you just are not. You also may not eat anything at lunch/dinner. You are just that busy. I ate half of my wedding food. So here's a hint. Pack snacks in your overnight bag...it may sound silly, but it is a reality. My husband and I went to the store and got wine and snacks and I was so glad. We were SO HUNGRY. We also went out and played putt putt...if you are having an early wedding like us (got married at 12) then look for fun stuff in the area. You'll be so hopped up on adrenline you may want to get out later. :)

    Good luck ladies!

  • I have five days and finished the last big DIY project tonight with help from Future SIL and her friend that I don't even know.  I guess God knew I needed a few angels tonight!  I'm exhausted and the main event has not even started yet and work is so busy I am swamped with boss up my butt about every project.  I think I am going to take a cool shower and a Tylenol PM and get some rest.  Hugs to all you May girls still waiting on the date like me. <3
  • THANKS FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL ADVICES LADIES.. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MAY BRIDES. WE ROCK :)

Not exactly true.  I got married at 11 in the morning and i still made time to eat and i wanted to eat. I was hungry! Now the reception however, i barely ate anything. I think it just depends honestly.
