Final Fitting

I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I hate my wedding dress. There. I said it. I felt preassured into buying it and I kept thinking as we went along with the alterations, it would get better. But, today I had my final fitting and I hate it even more. There's nothing I can do about it, my wedding is in 1 week. Well, the wedding isn't about the dress, it's about the marriage!

Is there anything at all you like about your dress? If so, focus on that. 

If not... well, you can always focus on the fact that your H's goal is going to be to get you outta that thing as soon as he can

I'm sorry.  I can totally empathize.  I loved my dress until the final fitting, which was last week.  I now think it is too poofy, not my style, and I'm worried that I will have back fat.  I haven't completely admitted this to anyone, because I feel bad.  Everyone is telling me that they like it, and I'm just not sure.  Sorry, you're right though, it is about more than just the dress.  I'm sure you'll look beautiful!

i feel the same way about mine! i see im not the only one!! i kept trying to convince myself to love it... after final fitting i still dont like it! i am sure you will look great in your dress and your soon to be husband will love it!! congrats soon to be bride!!

I never loved my dress...i got it because it looks good on and was clearenced so I can afford it. I dont hate it, but its nms at all. I got a second dress that is short that I have (finally) decided to wear for the whole reception because even though its just an ivory party dress I LOVE it, way more then my wedding dress, so at least most of the day I will actually be wearing that one. Maybe finding a reception dresss that you love might help get over some of the feelings of unhappyness with 'the dress'?

I am trying to focus on what I love about my dress... the woman who did my fitting said I looked beautiful... but she might say that to everyone... my mom and sister who were with me aren't the type to "gush" so until all of my BMs see me in it (they are all my best friends) I know they will honestly tell me I look beautiful. I think I just need that... and to not focus on the back fat!</div>

You are all going to be BEAUTIFUL on the day of no matter what dress you wear. I had some serious dress stress for a long time so I have been there as well. Like PP said, FI's thoughts will be how to get you out of it later  

It's also a good idea to focus on how great your hair and makeup will look and maybe ask your photog to not focus on your dress/dress detail shots as much.

Thanks ladies! I feel better knowing I am not alone. I tried it on today in different undergarments and surprisingly, that made a little difference. I still hate it, but feel better about it :-)
