Really need some reccomendations...

Ok ladies, I am on a $13000 budget, but Im aiming to keep my budget under 10,000.

My reception vendor site just fell through because we couldnt come up with the money they wanted for the deposit.

Does anyone have any suggestions on reception sites that will stay within my budget? Preferably indoors. We have 130 people attending.

Im at a loss these days....It seems everytime we have things settled, it falls though...Im at the point where I just want to stop planning and say screw it Ill find a courthouse.

A wedding on the budget and for a guest list that size is definitely more than doable.  Can you tell us a little bit more about the wedding you're imagining?

Is there a location (north, south, east, west) that you have in mind?  Do you want an outdoor space, along with indoor?  How much money have you budgeted to spend on the venue? Are you locked into May 2012?

I know some people are weary about Aliquippa, but I would definitely consider http://stelijahserbianorthodoxchurchaliquippa.com/
It is plenty big enough (even though it says it is only 600 sq feet on the rental info, that is just a typo) and it only cost $100 bucks an hour plus a custodial fee of $100 and then cost of chartering. If you go look at the place the lady will recommend Beyond Parsley Catering, and I advice you to listen to her. They are incredibly cheap but are still very good at making things look and taste delicious. You will not pay more than $30 a plate. Here is there website:

I would at the very least try to search for venues that allow you to use your own caterer so you can use them, those prices are helping our budget a lot.

I'm going to ditto MRads here, is there a specific area you would like to stay in? The venues I know of are all in the South Hills.

In general, you'll want to look at banquet halls or fire halls. Those are probably your best bet. We are having our reception at Holy Cross Banquet Hall, which I think could work for you. It's in Mt. Lebanon. I can PM you with price info if you'd like.

Remember that every location is going to require some money for a deposit, so whatever you decide to do, you will need to come up with some money.

A former knottie had a wedding at the Aviary on your budget.  I think morainemom's daughter had a 10K wedding at Lemont on your budget too, but it was on a Friday.

There are also plenty of other affordable venues - Mayernik and the Cathedral Room at St. NIcks come to mind.  Also tons of firehalls in the area, so get back with more region specifics and people can help more.

As panther said, having deposit money is going to be key for nearly every vendor and for the reception hall.  Your budget is 10K - do you have a plan to save that much money before the wedding?   If you do have a saving plan, when will you hit the right amount of money for each deposit?

Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions ladies but thankfully my dad helped us out and paid the deposit for us so were back on for our reception site. Thank goodness. Hopefully we can fix our car problems within the next couple weeks, we have to pay our next installment 6/7 but I start my new job on the 9th of this month so hopefully we will be better off with it.
