I think you can do either one.  I actually haven't decided how I want to do ours yet...I'm leaning towards doing one couple/family per card because it will be less writing and will take up less space on a table.

Not everyone gets their own. I would do it as couples and families. For example: John and Nacy Smith
    Table 5

if it's a family (ie- parents and their kids):
John, Nacy, Jason, and Erica Smith
    Table 5

If everyone had their own, and you had like 200 people, you would have to make 200 cards!

I am doing one for each person (250 people), but we are having a seated dinner so the wait staff will need to know each person's choice.

    That's a good point....

You could do either, but it seems like for caterers to know who ordered what you may want to do everyone's names versus a couple or family.

<div>Ditto this. Although I have seen cards that have two meal options on them (A C for chicken on the left side, and S for steak on the right, and hopefully the couple rememers what they ordered). For families, I would do one for each since the parents might not be sitting next to each other so they can take care of their kids.</div>

<div>We don't have to put the meal option on the escort card but if we did that's how I'd do it. </div><div>
</div><div>To be honest if FI & I had separate escort cards, he wouldn't even grab his, he would just follow me to our table. </div>

this. Both ways are both 100% acceptable, it's up to what you need the escort cards to do...

</div><div>This.  Otherwise you can do it per couple/family, as long as they are all seated at the same table.  Or you don't have to do escort cards at all if they don't need to indicate the guest's meal selection, you could just make it simple and do a seating chart!
