How long do you wait????

How long do you wait before you start to inquire with folks who have not RSVP'd? Fi thinks we should allow 5-7 days after the date in case of slow mail. What are you ladies doing?

Re: How long do you wait????

  • I think it kind of depends on how much time you have between your RSVP date and when you need your final numbers.  I gave myself a 2 week buffer between the two, so I might wait until a week after the RSVP date to contact people.   At the same time, I don't think there is anything wrong with starting to reach out to people right away if it's less stressful for you!

  • I would at least wait a day or two. But I do agree with the other ladies it depends on when your date is between the final count date.
  • For us, we don't need our final count until the beginning of May and our rsvp date is March 31st.  I'm going to wait one week until I start calling people.

Even though we have time until we need the final count, I need to get started on the table arrangements and the placecards.

  • It depends, people who have told me they are coming but havnt rvsp'd I will probably start calling right away because if they are planning on coming id rather just confirm it. But if I havnt heard either way I'll probablly wait a week. We made them early intentionally so that we have a week or 2 before trying to finish seating charts/table numbers and having numbers into people.

haha I totally agree!  And we only have a week in between the end date and when we need our count by, so I'll probably start on the Tuesday after (end date is next Friday).

When I made the wedding list, I grouped each family together to make sure that I didn't forget anyone, so right now I have about 45 tables lol, but once we have all the RSVPs back, I can just group families together.  I'm hoping it won't be as horrific as I've heard it is.

Our caterer needs a 3 week buffer, and my mom thought that was rediculous and didn't want to put our deadline more than three weeks ahead... she wanted to have our "due date" the day before the 3 week mark and I said "seriously?!" and managed to convince her to give ourselves 3 or 4 days before the caterer's deadline, so we will be calling immediately and saying "not sure if you've already mailed it and it's just not here yet, but can we have your RSVP verbally please?"  :S  So far we've got a third of the invites back and we mailed them exactly two weeks ago, so hopefully they will keep coming in!

  • I'll be sending people FB messages with one week left to RSVP as a friendly reminder.  The remainder will be getting calls the day after our RSVP date, since we only have a week to get a headcount and I figure we'd need to account for a few days of phone tag.  I have no problem calling them right away since they've already had 1.5 months to respond.

  • Our RSVP date falls on a Saturday so am planning to contact people the following Wednesday if I haven't gotten their response by then. I agree with PP, they have plenty of time to RSVP so they shouldn't get offended if they wait until the last minute or completely forget to return their card.

Our RSVP date is this Saturday. I am missing a large chunk of rsvps. I will probably facebook those I know are likely coming right away. We are going to call others on Wednesday and tell them we need to know by Friday if they are unsure.

Our caterer wants our final numbers a month before, which puts me at a week from today (YIKES!). Figure a few days off wont matter to them. They are pretty easy.
