Married in the Woods?

Hi!

My fiance and I have a tall order for a wedding site. We're looking for our ceremony to be not only outdoors, but in the woods. Really in the woods--like follow a trail, surrounded by trees, oh here's the wedding!

We're also looking for reception venues on site or nearby that are unique and we can do most of the decorating ourselves. (think rustic but elegant--barns and the like) Nearby lodging is a big need as well.

I've looked into many Barns nearby (such as cheesman) but I'm not aware of how you would go about getting married in the woods themselves if the reception site doesn't help....

I think the Barn at Fallingwater fits the bill but may be a bit over our budget. Any knotties know of any other ceremony/reception sites that have a wooded ceremony location and a great place indoors to party?

Thanks!

I have some photos of a beautiful ceremony in Frick Park last summer. If you send me a PM I can send you a  few pics. They did their reception very small and at a friend's house. There are some open areas in Frick where I think you could do a tent.... but then lodging is an issue. Let me know if you would like to see the pics - I think it fits the bill but you'd definitely have to work the rest out. HTH

You'd have to travel, but Cooper's Rock outside of Morgantown could work. I saw some pictures of a college friend's wedding there and it looked beautiful and in the middle of the woods.

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.
