Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Karami and my FI and I are recently engaged. (11/23/11). We just set the date and booked the venue for June 15, 2013. Yay! So now the fun begins! 

I have a vague idea of what I want the style to be, but since the majority of our wedding budget went to the actual reception/food/bar/ceremony site...it's going to take a lot of creative ideas and savings to make it happen. 

Anyways, glad to be here and so excited to start planning!

We had made a few phone calls and emails and found out that June 2013 was starting to book up. Which is crazy! I'm absolutely convinced that some people book the venue and then pray their significant other proposes to them in time. One place told me they were booked until Summer 2014.

hello and congrats on the engagement! We're date twins!  i haven't booked anything yet, but we have appointments set to visit a few places! WV doesn't really book very early so i'm not too worried about it lol. happy planning!

Welcome to the board and congrats on booking your venue already! I am sure I will see you around on the Detroit board as well. We booked our venue back in October and got the only remaining Saturday left in June 2013! its crazy how fast everywhere books!

Welcome! We are also looking at June 15, 2013, but don't have the venue booked yet. Pretty sure I know where I want it to be, but we're going to look at a couple more places over the next couple months before we decide for sure.

Welcome to the board! We booked our venue back in September because I had my heart set on a particular place. They do only one wedding at a time and already had bookings into Fall 2013!

Mine is June 15th, 2013! We are having the ceremony at the Indiana State House....gorgeous inside! The reception will be at Primo but we can't book it til January....*mumbles* lol

@Klyn, I noticed your info says you are from Detroit - make sure you make your way over to the Michigan-Detroit board if you haven't already. Tons of friendly and helpful ladies on that board as well!

Hello nice to meet you! I have also noticed that lots of venues are booked extremely far in advance. But that is just all of those other brides getting a jump start like us! Looking forward to this long journey with you!
