I scheduled my boudoir shoot! The photographer will be sending me a contract some time this weekend or the beginning of next week. For an hour session, as many outfit changes as I want, professional hair and makeup, a disc with all my high res images, and an album, it's only $375! So excited. I'm doing it in March when FI is out of state for a conference.

We drank and a lot of wine this weekend and started putting songs into our DJ's online playlist creater.

FI's GM presents showed up. He got them all  customized baseball bats and they're amazing. And he got me one! It's pink! I'll post a picture later, but it's really cute.

OH, I also bought 150 eggplant chair sashes for $100 off a girl on the classified board. They shipped yesterday. And sometime by the end of this week I'll be getting a shipping quote from another girl on 150 eggplant napkins. I've gotten all my linens off the classified board. It'll run me less than $300 all said and done for 150 napkins, 150 chiar sashes and 19 table runners. That's morethan half what my venue would have charged me. Score.

Edit: I have e-pics on Saturday. Totally forgot! FI dragged me all over gods green earth all weekend looking for a new outfit. He's so cute like that.

  • We booked our honeymoon!!!!! We went on Sunday and paid for our flights and put a deposit down on our rooms. We are going to Hawaii for 11 days, 5 in Ohau, 6 in Maui. We are getting married 6-29 and will be leaving 7-1. Sooo excited. We spent the whole weekend looking up things to do there and places we want to eat. We also booked one of the most famous and popular luaus in Maui. We rented a jeep for Maui too so we can drive allong the coastline, and we are also getting ready to book our interisland flights to fly to Volcano  National Park on the Big Island and spend the day there. (I've flown over volcanoes before in a helicopter, and I can't wait to see the ones in Hawaii. I am certfied as an Earth Science teacher though I'm not teaching right now, and I love Volcanoes and Earth Science-y stuff, lol). I can't wait to book some other stuff, and I can't wait to go!!!!! Although, it is a 12-13 hour flight, and I am dreading that. We were able to book a non-stop flight, which i think is good. It's a brand new, HUGE plane, 8 seats across, but we were able to get a seat of 2 for just us. Hopefully it doesn't change. And luckily there are TVs.

Cnf, I'm so jealous of our boudoir shoot!!!!! I don't think I'm gonna find a good deal here, but I really hope so.

  • Our wedding planning is kind of on hold until after my sister's wedding next weekend. I did stop at a big bridal salon about an hour away on Friday to see if they had any bridesmaids dresses worth hauling my girls out there to try on. I found about 6 or 7 dresses that I really liked, so I made an appointment for everyone to try them on the first weekend of November.

I also sent Vistaprint new, revised images for our save the dates. I wasn't totally thrilled with the way the back of the postcards looked (it was totally my fault because of the image I used), so they offered to reprint them for us at no cost.

Other than that, I spent most of my downtime this past weekend baking cookies for my sister's wedding. I'm up to 200 cookies from the one recipe, and I need to crank out another 12 dozen this coming weekend. The hardest part is definitely avoiding the temptation to taste-test what I'm making. And by taste-test, I mean eat half a dozen in one go.
  • We haven't done anything for our wedding lately. We're kind of taking a break right now, and keeping quiet until my dad's wedding is over. I don't want to be all overly excited about our wedding this week, because I know I'm supposed to focused on my dad's wedding for them. I know we need to help them with whatever they need. It's difficult, because I'm just so excited for our wedding. Tonight is their rehersal dinner hopefully everything will go okay, because my dad and his fiance are sick. Unfortunately that's what happens this time of year.
  • We put the deposite down yesterday on our florist!!!!!! And we are working on the wedding invitations now. All of our save the dates were sent out and received so thats nice! Other then that havent done much!

Our table number holders came in the mail this weekend, we bought them from a June 2012 knottie!  I also started addressing the Save the Dates, got most done but still need to get addresses for some people.  Probably will send those out towards the end of the month.  We also signed up for a Sip n Scan event at Macy's for next week.  And there is a bridal show the beginning of November that our potential florist is going to be at, so we are going to to check that out too.  We still need to get a limo for us and book our hotel room for the night of the wedding.

Edit: I forgot, I went with my MOH to look and narrow down bridesmaid dresses, we have it down to 9.  While at the store we made an appointment for the girls to try them on.
  • After making the appointment last month and it seeming like it is forever away, I am finally going dress shopping this weekend. I'm excited and hoping that I'll find something ont he first day. Monday I went out of town with my mom do to some wedding research. We really didn't buy anything but got a lot of pricing info and got a couple silk flowers to play around with for the centerpieces. Slowly it all seems like it's coming together.
  • FI has been working hard this week on the wire for my bridal party hangers.  He's also finished the design for the GMs belt buckles and tested one.  It came out pretty good!  I've been corresponding with another photographer who's a friend of a friend about doing some more pre-wedding pictures because I decided that's what I'd like to have behind the glass of the centerpiece lanterns.  I think if I print the photos on rice paper or vellum the candlelight will still come through.

I've been purchasing bits and pieces off the classified board for the wedding/reception.  So far I've found a couple of chalkboards for a "Love Story" sign and drink menu for the bar, vases to hold my BM bouquets at the reception, chair covers for the banquet chairs in the reception hall and my latest purchase is going to be purple chair sashes for the banquet chairs in the reception hall.  I'm waiting to purchase table linens because FI has hinted that we may be able to upgrade our venue package a little bit if he's able to sell one of his motorcycles.  If we upgraded we'd get the table linens in the upgraded package.  I'm hoping we can do the upgrade but not planning for it since he hasn't actually listed the motorcycle for sale yet  Tongue Out  I love my FI but he's a terrible procrastinator sometimes.

BIG DEAL: I scheduled a MUA trial with a local salon where I went to get my nails done and hair cut recently.  I'm happy with the nail woman, not really sure about the young lady who cut my hair and excited about the MUA because I've been told she's VERY good and her prices are really reasonable.  I'm scheduled to do that in a couple of weeks.

One of my BM was interested in actually having me go shopping with her so I polled the others and most of them are up for the shopping trip.  I plan to schedule something in mid-December in the hopes that most of them will be on break from travelling for work that we can get out and see some dresses.

Since I had the STD designed and over to the printer I got a wild hair and also designed our invitations, response cards and thank you cards.  I love the way they've all turned out, they pretty much all have the same design on them.

I think that's it.  I'm pretty happy with my progress so far Smile

  • My dress arrived!!! My oldest niece, possibly my soon to be MIL and I are picking it up tomorrow. I found a brand new David's Bridal tiara at Goodwill I have NEVER been to a Goodwill and I wasn't even looking for anything but tea cups for a baby shower for 30!! It was priced at 150! I'm taking that with me tomorrow to see how it goes with my dress. FI and I got our STD done and addressed, now to just mail them out. He liked my invites, so I'm really excited about that. We booked a photobooth!! It's so fun getting things done and seeing what everyone else is getting done.

  • Met with two new florists on Monday, since we changed our location and all. Really loved the first one. Was ready to run out of the second one. Picked tuxes for FI and the gm. Started buying clear vases at Goodwill for our candy bar. Started addressing our STDs. FI thinks I'm crazy and way ahead. I think that aside from the attire for the fellas that I'm right on track.

  • I haven't been on here in a while and by the looks of things I have a lot of catching up to do!

I finally booked the florist and I am very happy with the decision to let someone else handle the flowers. I am very confident in the florist we choose. We've been to to different cake tastings and plan on doing a few more since the first never got back to me with a price and I was not impressed by the second one. Our cake toppers came in and they are even more beautiful in person then the picture, I love them. We recieved our STD's Monday now I just have to get the rest of the addresses from FI. I also ordered our invitations but can't give them the final wording until we meet with our officiant to go over the ceremony details which should happen this weekend. I am also going BM dress shopping on Saturday to fianlize the dresses. And last but not least we have scheduled our e-pics for the 20th or the 21st depending on the weather.

Now I have to move on to booking a hotel room, hair and MUA and limo.

  • Belle!! Welcome back, girl!!
  • We registered at Macys and BBB. It was really stressful, FI actually enjoyed it a lot more than me.

We also booked our hotel block finally. We are also hosting a brunch on Sunday morning after the wedding for our OOT guests at the hotel and we got that booked as well.

Our e-pic disc should be coming in the mail this week, I need to pick a picture and make STDs. We are also going to look into invitations soon.

  • Forgot to add all the checks from the Boston trip...and since then!

    1. DJ met, contract signed, deposit sent....and its winging its way to Boston now.
    2. Dress picked up.  Still love it, but hate how it fits...Diet has commenced.  The good news, my tall, amazing shoes mean no hemming!
    3. Dress dropped off at seamstress. No matter what, since its a sample, certain parts (the top portion) needs to be let out.  She will start work in Dec/January in prep for my visit around Easter
    4. Tried about 12 different cupcakes!  Narrowed it down to one baker who will do cupcakes and a small cake for us to cut.  Flavors: Coconut, Red Velvet, and Choc cake ganache frosting with peanut butter surprise filling.  Cutting cake will be coconut.
    5. Tux for FI and the other gents picked out.  We're still deciding on whether we will keep the ties offered in the package or check out some others.  Not a huge fan of the clip on TBH
    6. Scouted rehearsal dinner venues.  We're doing cocktails and hors d'ouevres (sp) for wedding party and out of towners.

    OK...I think that's it! Phew.  That's good for a little while, I think. ;)

<div>Seriously, way ahead is WAY better than behind or even on time because then you don't have to worry about much at all the last couple of months...in theory. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>

  • I've been emailing our caterer's pastry chef about cake ideas.  They're having a big tasting event in January, so we'll go then to taste and pick out cake flavors.  Our save the dates should arrive tomorrow (yay!)  Oh, and in a total mid-life crisis type crisis, I think we're changing our colors from sapphire blue and pale green to tangelo (orange, but not ORANGE, and definitely not peach) and pale green.  Never a dull moment around here.

  • We registered at BBB last night! It was a ton of fun but also really stressful. Since FI and I both live with our parents right now we literally need EVERYTHING. Our registry is pretty big! But it was super exciting. I don't know what to do next really!

I was at a wedding in August and the bridesmaids wore tangelo dresses, and I freaking loved the way the they looked. They were very summer-y and fun.
  • :). Thanks Emily I've missed you ladies!
