XP-Flowers-PIP

This is abreviated version.  Do you guys think silk flowers are ok?  Have any of you received flower quotes yet?  I have a hard time paying money for something to be tossed and I want to do some tall centerpeices and I know they are going to be pricey.  Church I think I will definitely do silk (then they can keep them).  I am looking at www.NDI.com.  They are pricey, ok they are outrageous, but I have an account with them and get a significant discount.  I may do stems and make my own or I may see if they will give me even more of a discount if I do multiples and they do the arrangements.  My other fear is I want hydrangeas and those wilt so fast and my wedding is outdoors.  I still plan on making an appt. and getting a quote for real but just wondering your guys thoughts on silks.  I have never been to a wedding with silks (but then again I am older and the silks back then sucked)  and I don't want to be tacky.  Bouquets I am definitely doing a mix of silks and shells for me and prob these for bridesmaids.  I put some photos of the centerpieces I like too.

  • I think silk flowers will be okay for parts of the day...centerpieces and like you said, at the church, should work best and then maybe fresh flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres.

I saw some girls on other boards talking (both good and bad, so beware) about http://www.silkflowersfactory.com/

  • I'm only using real flowers for myself, FI and our parents. I bought silk for everything and everyone else. As long as you can find some decent ones it doesn't really matter.

  • Silk flowers are definitely okay in my opinion. My cousin used all silk in her wedding and you'd never know if there were real or not! I personally am using all real and my quote was under $300 for all bouquets, bouts, and corsages. I'm going very simple for bridesmaid bouquets though. I'm considering a silk bouquet for my toss bouquet so it can be a forever keepsake for the one who catches it! :)
  • Thank you so much for the feedback.  I swear the things I stress about are bizarrre.

  • I'm using all silks, and we're making everything ourselves. My mom is great at putting arrangements together, and we're really enjoying it. There's some great silks that look real so I don't think it's tacky at all!

  • We are using silk flowers for our bouquets.I want to keep my bouquet and I figured the girls would want to keep theirs too if they were nice. We're using natural touch flowers. I'm not sure what we're using for our centerpieces yet. I don't even know if I'm going to use flowers in our centerpieces yet though. Well anyways I like the idea of using silk flowers so this is who we are using: http://www.wedideas.com They have centerpieces as well under decorations. I like them because they can do anything you want.
