Honeymoons

Have any of you ladies (and your respective gents) decided on where you're going for your honeymoon? When are you planning to leave? How long of a trip are you planning?

I think I may have finally gotten it through his head to actually go on one. Im pretty sure we are going to rent a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tn. Its all of 45 minutes from my house but hey, at least I've talked him into it *fingers-crossed*. We will probably leave after the reception. No idea as to how long we will stay.

We're still trying to decide...we both were on board for Greece but we want to see how things simmer down over there before we make plans. Otherwise we're thinking Colombia, maybe Turkey, or Thailand. We'd prob leave mon morning (after a sat wedding), for about 2 weeks.

We have been leaning towards a Royal Carribbean cruise. It is a 7 day 6 night cruise that leaves the day after our wedding.

We are planning on going to Europe for around 2 1/2 weeks...my fiance is off during the summer and I have the ability to purchase additional vacation time on top of the three weeks I have already. We're probably going to leave either very early the Monday after our wedding or take a red-eye out Sunday night (fortunately, we only live about 15 minutes from the airport).

@MrsK, the past couple of summers, we have travelled around the 4th, and as long as you're not planning on flying on the 3rd-5th, it shouldn't make too much of a difference. I have noticed when booking hotels in the past over the holiday that if you check in or out on the 3rd-5th, the rates are a little higher, but I think as long as you book your travel well in advance (like at least 4 months out, if possible), the holiday doesn't change the prices too much.

We haven't decided yet, but I'm hoping for either Bali or Thailand...for 2 weeks on the Monday after our Saturday wedding.

I have tons of hotel points so all we'll have to pay for is our flights and entertainment.

We are thinking either Hawaii or somewhere in the Carribbean. We are planning on leaving Monday or Tuesday after our Saturday wedding and being gone about a week.

We are going on a cruise but waiting until January 2014.  But after the wedding we are going to the lake of the Ozarcs for a couple of days before we move halfway across the country!

We think we are doing a 5 day cruise out of florida on the monday 2 days after the wedding.  Still need to be sure he can get off though and havent decided definitely on western or eastern caribbean.

For as long as I can remember my dream honeymoon has been the Greek islands. FI has never been to Europe so he's down for that and/or anywhere else in Europe. The optimal situation would be a three-week honeymoon in Greece, Italy, and a couple other spots in the Mediterrannean and Europe shortly after the wedding... but that would be expensive and our current wedding budget doesn't include honeymoon funds. So we are thinking of taking a quick mini-honeymoon right after the wedding/family leaving town - maybe doing a cruise to Mexico, or a road trip to San Francisco. We would save the Europe trip for the following year. My only fear is that we would never actually take the Europe trip. Anyone else considering a mini-honeymoon and an extended trip later?

We're saving our real honeymoon for the following winter (6 months after the wedding), and are planning a week-long stay someplace warm, tropical, and all inclusive. The day after the wedding we're going to go camping for 3-4 days as our mini-honeymoon. We're big campers (we have a 30' camper that FI bought new last year) and it's a low-budget way to relax and unwind after the wedding.

I'm also getting married Saturday the 29th! We live on the beach and July 4th is a big holiday up here so we were thinking we would leave the morning of July 5th and spend the week with out of town family that is coming for the wedding! We are also looking at all inclusive either Jamaica or Bahamas

We are planning on going to Ireland and perhaps England while we're over that way. Probably about ten days, and I'd like to leave the Monday after our Friday wedding, but nothing is set in stone. I wish airlines had their prices posted for June so I could get planning!

 We want to go to Ireland too! We won't be able to go until a couple months later because of work and a million friends' weddings... so we're probably going to do a mini-moon to Florida right after :)

We are going to Disney as well!!  We are leaving Monday Afternoon following our Saturday June 1, 2013 Wedding and returning Sunday!!
