how much is too much?

I found cute short black lace dress for moh. It is 200 bucks. Is that too much?

That's not really something anyone else can answer for you. You gotta ask her about her budget. If you dont want to put pressure on her about feeling obliged for this particular dress I would ask her what is she comfortable spending on a dress and then if that dress works then great if not then its too much. I asked all my bridesmaids how much they could afford and they all had different ammounts so I need to find something under the lowest persons budget or foot the bill for the difference.

Since you're choosing to use black for your bridesmaids dresses, maybe you could just tell her the length you want her in and let her pick out an LBD or use one she may already have. Otherwise you may have to pay the difference if this is too much for her. Ask her what she's willing to spend and if it's under $200 and you absolutely love this dress, you may end up having to foot the remainder.

You have to ask your MOH for sure. I think that if someone asked me, if it was something I could wear again (and would wear again) then I wouldn't mind paying that. Maybe show her the dress and see what she thinks, she might love it and be willing to pay. Just don't pressure her or put her on the spot.
