June 2013 Weddings

Hello tax return!!

I just had my appointment with my tax person.  I will be getting a lot of money back!  I'm super excited to put it in the savings account to pay for our wedding expenses we will have coming up.  It's so nice because we have half of the cost of our wedding saved up already-- Such a relief!  I am also planning on using some of it to go toward a big payment for my loan that I have taken out for my masters.

On a side note: I paid off my undergrad loan yesterday!

Sorry, I'm just so excited and had to share!

What are you planning on doing with your tax return?  Save it for the wedding?  Pay off bills?  Or something else?

Re: Hello tax return!!

  • Yay! that's very exciting :) I'll be applying what I get back from the tax return to our move, FI and I are moving to KY in a few months.
Sidenote: my sister's at creighton med school, woo omaha!

  • Woohoo!! Congrats!! I'm in the same boat as you! I didn't think I'd get anything back since last year I had to pay in, but I'm getting a sizable refund this year! Going straight into the wedding fund for me :) I also wrote a check for the balance of one student loan yesterday, but hacen't mailed it off yet. Such a great feeling, isn't it? :D

Yay!  Someone who knows where Omaha is! :)  Haha...We live about an hour and half from there, but that's the only city that comes up for Nebraska on TK.
  • Mine paid for the retainer for my attorney...ugh, XH + ticked off that I moved in with my FI w/ our DS = he's filing for full physical custody. It's ok, hold back your laughter lol. I had to. This is the same guy who has missed over 80 days of visitation in the last year, is currently unemployed and doesn't even have his own place to live. Enough said. It's an open and shut case and a giant waste of my time (and money). Here's hoping the judge actually makes him pay my legal fees (as requested in my Answer to his Motion) to set an example that he can't keep bringing BS into the courts.

What little was left was used to pay off my attorney what I owed him for my divorce, and paid off a CC I used for Christmas. Easy come...easy go :)

Now, my bonus from work next month will be 100% wedding money!!
