June 2013 Weddings

southeast florida?

My FI and I are looking at staying somewhere in the southeast region of Florida. We are hopefully taking 2 weeks for our honeymoon next June and want to be able to go to Key West. We would like to stay someplace with a nice beach and can just relax in the sand. I'm looking at Fort Lauderdale but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

Re: southeast florida?

  • I can recommend Fort Lauderdale, or Miami.    Fort Lauderdale is probably more budget friendly.

  • I had a blast the last time I was in Ft Lauderdale. I didn't experience the beach, but we went to Seminole Hard Rock and it was sooo fun. In case you aren't familiar with it, its part hotel and casino, but the other part is all open andthere are tons of restaurants ans bars all around. The places have live music outside their doors or inside, there are little beer stands so you can get a drink and walk around to all the bands. There are tons of restaurants, and there are also lots of nightclubs if u like dancing. We had a blast there and always say we want to go back. There was so much going on and so much to do we didn't even gamble.

I live in Ft Lauderdale and the beaches here are nice but get crowded.  We usually do 2 staycations a year and stay at the  http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/florida/hilton-fort-lauderdale-beach-resort-FLLFSHH/index.html and  http://www.hollywoodbeachmarriott.com/  Both hotels are beautiful but the Marriott is my favorite and probably a little more romantic.

  • I like the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell Downtown (http://www.hamptoninnmiamibrickell.com/). It is not at the beach but it is walking distance from all the fun in downtown like Mary Brickell Village (http://www.marybrickellvillage.com/). The hotel is about a year old and beautiful and modern.

  • I like the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Downtown City Center - www.hamptoninnfortlauderdale.com. It is not at the beach, but if you are going to Key West too, it might be fun to stay somewhere different and this hotel is in downtown close to Las Olas for all the fun.
