When are you shoe shopping?

Since we are all getting married in June, I'm wondering if everyone is shopping now or what the plans are I dread shoe shopping and wonder if it needs to be done now since open toes, sandals, summer colors are in season now.

I am at a loss of what to get for shoes.  I can't get normal heels because I'll be walking/dancing in grass.  I would like some heels, but wouldn't mind a beautiful pair of sandals/flats. 

It stresses me out everytime I think about it, which is so stupid.

I feel the same way. I think most shoes are uncomfortable and I also do not buy leather, which limits the selection. I love flat sandals with flowers or jewels! The problem is, I think my dress will look silly unless I get some heel height! Have you tried looking at wedges?

I almost bought these today because they are so much fun! I tried them on and attempted the moonwalk! hahah

I think I have a totally different outlook on shoes then you ladies. I love shoes so I am always shopping. I want a high platform with a stiletto heal in possibly purple or gold glitter and they have to be open toe so I'm always on the lookout for the perfect pair. I also wear 5" heels everyday to work and walk in them at least a couple miles a day so I'm used to them. Plus I'm 5ft and FI is 6'3 so I have to wear heels.

I had to get my shoes right away because I couldn't order my dress without them. My dress has a beautiful lace overlay with a lace design on the bottom, so it cannot be hemmed once it's made. I had to get a special "hem to hollow" measurement, and in order to be accurate, I had to have the right height of heels. I didn;t want to be locked into a heel height, because that would limit my shoe choices since I'm so picky, so I went right out and spent a week shopping for them.

I don't have a picture, but they are strappy sandals, about a 3 in heel, and all the straps have rhinestones on them. I posted a pic of them on FB a while back.

I've been painstaking looking at shows since I got engaged in December. Everytime I find something I love they no longer have my size. And I haven't found anything in a store yet that I like, so I've been looking online. I'm still struggling with that too. I was hoping to have them by the time I went dress shopping so I could get a real picture of how I'll look, but that won't happen now. 

These are my current love affair, but I need a 7.5 and can't find them anywhere in that size.

Our wedding is outside, so I had to find heels I could wear in the grass. Wedges weren't an option, I roll my ankles in them like crazy. I looked at a TON of shoes online trying to find what I was looking for (3"-ish tapered heels, metallic, kind of vintage looking, sandals), and I found these sandals from Seychelles. They match the color of the beading on my dress and they're pretty comfortable. Now I just have to resist the temptation to keep looking- like Belle, I love shoes and could shop for them endlessly.

I got mine on sale at sears for $30!!!!!!!!!!! I got them months ago and can't wait to wear them. They are in the closet in the box still lol since they have become 'my precious' (said in Gollum Lord of the Rings voice)

I still haven't looked at shoes, I want to wear sandals with heels but they can't be too high since FI is only an inch or two taller than me, so he doesn't like the idea of me in sky high heels lol. I'm thinking I'll start looking at the end of summer/beginning of fall, since sandals are not in season anymore and you can usually find them for cheap. I'm looking for purple shoes, so I'm hoping there are some decent choices around in stores, since I'm not a fan of on-line shopping (I like to be able to touch things and try them on before I buy them).

I LOVE shoes and I had no problem shopping for shoes. I actually ended up with 2 pair...I have heels for the ceremony and I bought a pair of wedges for the reception. I think I will  use the 1st pair reception, 2nd pair ceremony. I have a year to decide what to do with these.

I've just started browsing online for shoes. I want to see where my dress falls so I can decide on a height since the bottom of my dress is kind of funky. We have an outdoor wedding so I'm leaning towards fun wedges. I know I want something in pink or orange. I love these shoes that I found on pintrest but have had no luck finding them.

We need to be shoe buddies. I'm looking for purple heels that can't be very high so I'm not taller than FI. I'm definitely open to sandals, but I'm not against regular heels either.

I can't post a picture since I'm on my iPod, but I do have my shoes picked out. They're 4 1/2 inch wedges that born makes that are only sold at Nordstrum online. There is a pretty big height difference between between my fi and I 1 foot 8 inches. So I'm gunning for high as I can but still gomfortable. Born stuff is really really comfortable. I run around in boots that are 3 1/2 inch heels and can't tell by the end of the day.

Haha yes, maybe we can start saving our finds on pinterest? I haven't pinned for a while, I need to get back on it! lol I'm ok with regular heels, too, I just prefer sandals because I feel like we don't really have spring here in New England, so I pretty much just go from boots to sandals. :)

I found my reception shoes before I got my ceremony/pictures/part of the reception shoes. I got them when Payless was discontinuing their dyeables (still need to waterproof the crap out of them). It has been really hard not to wear my pumas! I'm really hoping my heels are the right height for my dress.

I bought my shoes a couple weeks ago. I have been browsing shoes for months, as I am super picky. I want heels for the ceremony, but not super high heels, since I will most likely trip over my dress and faceplant. I found the perfect pair at DSW while I was looking for sandals, I never imagined I would buy wedding shoes this cheap.

Ferg, have you looked into Nina brand shoes? They have short heels and come in lots of colors.

I try not to buy leather, so I'm having a tough time finding styles I like. I think pumps are gorgeous, but they are uncomfortable to me. My dress might look silly if I go with flat sandals though. Have an appt Monday with seamstress and am hoping that the gown will look fine if I don't have heels.

It was nice to see the variety of shoes! Very fun styles, girls!!

I just ordered these, and a pair of Cole Hann.  I had to return the ones I ordered from Zappos.  Too small and they were more of a purplish blue rather than navy.  The Cole Hann ones say they have a nike air insole but I think they are kind of matronly.  What do you guys think?

Berry- we're shoe twins!  I just found mine accidentally at DSW on Friday, they're LuLu Townsend and were on sale for $35 and ridiculously comfortable :-)
