Ceremony Time?

Hi Girls!

I haven't been on here in forever!!! 

I just booked my reception venue and we have a time from 5-11.  I was wondering when to have the ceremony.  We have the space from 11-5.  Would 3 be to early or late??

Depends, how ling do you want your ceremony to be? And do you want time to do pictures in between?

The ceremony I'm thinking won't be over an hour and I would prefer pictures afterwards.

Personally, I think that I would start at 2 based on what you're saying, or 230 latest. Only because you're saying ceremony will be an hour, and what if it starts late. Let's say you plan for 3 but dont actually start until 330, then ceremony ends 430, and you only then have 1/2 hr for pictures. If you start earlier, you give yourself done cushion with time.

Are you guys having the ceremony on site or somewhere else? If it's on-site than I think you usually do it right before the reception and do pictures during the cocktail hour, but if it's at a different place I'd go with what rmp suggested.

We're doing the ceremony at a historic mansion in town and the reception at another site.

You could also do 3, but make 5-6 a cocktail hour at your reception, so if you run over for pictures it is no big deal.
