Wedding Favors?????

I have so many ideas about favors for after the wedding that it has really confused me! I want to do something sweet for my guests because they have to come so far to even get to my venue! But I love my venue and it's on a mountain in Alabama and I cannot go back now!! (I won't anyways! )
I've seen on Pinterest that I can make cookies that are heart shaped with stuff on it! Or a calligrapher can write on the favor box with "XO" soap in it!!
 It's a lot more things that were cute that I've seen I just don't have the patience or energy to write it all down tonight! But I was wondering what kind of favors could I do myself that would be personal and sweet while still inexpensive?

How many guests do you have?

In all honesty, I would skip favors, unless you do something edible. Favors are not a necessity, and most weddings I've been to where they have done favors, the guests end up leaving them behind.

If you are set on doing favors, chocolate covered pretzel rods decorated with sugar in your wedding colors are always a good bet. They're easy to make, inexpensive, and you can put them in a bag with a fancy ribbon.

Ditto Emily, I think edible flavors are the way to go! We are thinking of doing cake pops, I'm not crafty enough to make them, so I'll probably be ordering them, but I know there are kits you can buy to DIY.

I agree with edible favors. My brother and his wife did shot glasses and most people didn't take them home. We're going to have a candy bar and cookies for people to pack up and take home with them.

I agree with the edible favors. Most weddings I've been to without them the favors are usually left behind. I'm not doing edible but instead I'm getting magnetic photo strip frames that our guests can use to put their photo booth strips on their fridge or something. They'll also have a thank you note in them at the place setting. Hopefully people will take them but if not maybe the ones who like it will scoop up the extras.

Definitely edible! Think truffles or petit fours, sugar cookies with yummy royal icing in your wedding colors, cake pops, after dinner mints, or anything homemade. Even little jars of honey, preserves, or maybe cooking spices, herb de Provence, mulling spices, Smores kit, gourmet hot cocoa kit, gourmet popcorn or pretzels, etc.

Think of a favor as an extra little treat, not something to commemorate your wedding day that's inscribed with your names, etc. No one will want that! You are the only one who will be saving keep sakes, your guests are just there to celebrate with you the day of. 

And, just in case any favors do get left behind, if you choose a treat that you and your fiance like (e.g. you favorite candy) you won't have any go to waste.

we wanted to do little bottles of champagne and make our own labels, but my parents are hesistant to go along since my FI's mom doesn't drink alcohol.  FI says she won't care, but I am still afraid too, haha.  My compromise was that we would have little bottles of sparkling ciders for those do not drink champange, but my parents are not on board yet.  So we will have to see.  My mom wanted to do these love bird salt/pepper shakers that while they were cute, I think it would be a waste and not everyone would care for it and most likely leave them behind.  My back-up plan is little truffles from a local chocolate shop we have in the town we live so it brings a little of "home" to our wedding (we are getting married half way between where we live (and FI family) to where my family lives.  Favors has been the hardest thing to agree on so far, go figure!
