Hi ladies! I feel like I haven't been on here in forever! (probably more like a week lol) FI and I picked out and put a deposit down on our wedding bands this weekend! I'm so glad we ended up going early so we have over a year to pay them off. They are gorgeous but you should have seen my eyes pop out of my head at the total bill.

Also our Save the Dates were delivered, and look better than I ever thought they would! Yay!

How are everyone else's to-do lists coming along?

I've contacted a few caterers, but that's really it. I'm just in a wedding planning lull and I'm finding it hard to get motivated.

Congrats on the wedding bands and STD's!! I haven't made too many checks on my to-do list yet. We are currently trying to save so that we can book our venues... so until that happens, all of the vendor-related stuff can't happen. 

Today I wanted to go to the Dollar Tree and check out $1 mason jars on sale for my centerpieces (read a PSA on the Budget Weddings board) but I called my local store and they said that they don't carry mason jars. That was annoying! Hehe.

My parents are traveling up to St. Louis on Saturday to look at the venues we're considering. Hopefully, we'll be able to book something soon. I want our big stuff booked by the end of the month. We're also looking into asking my uncle to photograph for us and have a really good DJ in mind. It'll start coming together soon. I just want soon to get here!

Chels- I saw that but you can get them so much cheaper elsewhere, kmart and walmart sell them for much less than $1 per jar.

congrats on the check lady! After being turned away by the first four photographers we contacted due to them being already booked, we had to scramble and find more whos work we like. I have a ginormous list going now, however, they are all above what I was planning on spending on photography. (like $1500 more) We have the money, but it is hard to get used to the idea that we are going to spend so much more than we originally planned on.

sparkles- I def did that.  Our budget was originally $1000 cuz I saw people on craigslist for cheap when making the budget.  THEN I started seeing the stuff that the big guys offer and how pretty it was annnnd by accident we booked our photog for $2400.  It took some getting used to while doing the research but the more I dug deeper, the more I knew this was something to splurge on.

Sparkles - check out Amanda Mae Photography (amandamaedesign.com). That's who  I ended up going with, her most expensive package is $1400 I believe and she does all day coverage + engagement photos. She is so personable and makes you really comfortable. She's out of Grand Rapids but will travel for just the fee of gas.

I'm actually super excited with my progress. I have most of my big stuff done! Venue, Church, DJ, photographer and florist are all booked! I've just barely begun looking for dresses but don't plan to buy anything until May/June. I won't have a lot of time to plan Sept-May because I will be finishing up 1 hectic year of school so I am going to be planning mostly everything this summer!

Laura- glad to see you have made so much progress! I cant even look into your photog though since your wedding is the same day as mine! lol
