Different BM dresses?

So all of my bridal party except for 1, are in their 20's. The other is more of my mother's age. She is like a second mother to FI and so he wanted her in the wedding. I love her to death so this is fine with me. Anyway's back to my question. Since all of the girls are wearing orange, would it look ok if they all wore a different dress, but in the same color? Because I highly doubt she is going to want to wear a shorter dress like I know the girls will want to wear. I want her to be comfortable too since she has already expressed some concern over dresses.

Re: Different BM dresses?

  • I think you're fine with different dresses...at lot of the weddings I've been to recently, the girls have worn different dresses in the same color. My sister is doing this for her wedding in the fall, and I plan on doing the same thing. I think it's easier to let your girls choose dresses that flatter their body types (and, in your case, are age appropriate), as long as they're all the same color.

Body type is a issue as well. I want them to all look beautiful and be comfortable and I feel that the only way to achieve this is to let them pick their own dresses in the selected color. This would also help with their budgets as well. They chose the dress they like and can afford.  My other thing was that I wanted them to able to wear the dress again. And with this idea they would be more likely to re-wear it :)

  • Exactly my thoughts!!
  • I am doing different BM dresses.  I am letting them choose whatever they want (in the color scheme and I have to approve) but they are all just so different.

I would just make sure that they have the same type of fabric at least.  Satin and cotton don't go together all the time :)
