Engagement Pictures Help!

I have my engagement pictures scheduled for this Sunday which I'm super psyched about! I was really set on wearing a sundress that goes a little above my knees, and then over the past weekend I ended up getting a huge bruise on my knee. I was hoping it'd get better but if anything it just keeps changing colors. :( I keep trying to figure out what to do - should I just pick something different to wear (jeans and a tank top maybe?) or is there any way to use cover up so that it's not too visible? I can't really postpone the pics since my photographer is super booked, especially since the weather has been crappy and she is making up some of her rain dates. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :)

You could get cover up, or stage make-up to try to match your skin tone to cover it up. I would also ask your photographer if they can edit it out.

I had a huge bruise on my arm for pictures when I was younger and the photographer just had me do everything they would have had me do without it and then just touched it up.

    Good luck!

  • Wear the sundress, but like wright said, invest in some stage makeup. It's thick enough that it should cover a bruise pretty well, and if you powder over it, it should stay put for your session. Also, I'd try to stick to poses that kept that knee behind the other one, or stand at a slight angle so that the camera isn't getting a direct shot.

A good photographer can make that bruise go away and look like it never existed. Retouching is included afterall! Brign two outfits too, just in case you feel like covering it up half way through or something.

Have fun! We aren't doing ours until August, so I'll be jealously awaiting your AW post filled with pictures!

  • Thanks everyone! And I'll make sure to post some pictures when I get them. :) Any idea of a good place to buy stage make-up? Would they have it at a regular make-up store/department store?

  • I am sure your photographer can retouch the bruise out, I would email them just to check though!

I wouldn't worry too much about covering it up, your photographer should easily be able to edit that out of the picture and make it look totally normal. I agree with a PP that sid bring 2 outfits, you or your photographer might decide one is coming out better than the other based on lighting, location, what your FI is wearing, etc.

Anastassiia, if there's a Sephora near you, they carry a line called Makeup Forever, and their foundations and coverups are pretty thick and should work to cover up a bruise. Also, if there are any costume/theatre supply stores near you, they should carry stage foundation.

Thanks! There is a Sephora pretty close to my house, so I'll make sure to check them out! And I'm e-mailing my photographer right now to let her know about the situation.
