Bridesmaid Gifts

So FI and I have changed our wedding colors a little bit. We're going with a bright blue instead of that light teal looking blue from before. Anyways we've decided to put the girls in black dresses and I was wondering if an acceptable gift for the girls would be shoes in that bright blue color? I think I'd get them something else to go along with it, but i thought that it'd be a cool gift, because they could wear them to the wedding, and after too if they wanted because I'm going to find out their favorite type of shoe, and get it for them in that bright blue color.

i think that's a cute idea, especially if you are getting them shoes in different styles because then they are more likely to wear them. Like i had high stilletto heels, they just don't fit on my feet right (even though i wish they did) so I wouldn't wear them after the wedding, but bright blue shoes in a type that I like would be an awesome gift I would think. 

How many girls are in your WP though? This sound like a lot of work, not the easiest task to find all different bright blue shoes in all different sizes.

That's a super awesome idea, especially if you pick them out based on their style! That might be difficult, I agree, but if someone bought me awesome blue shoes I'd be stoked.

There are 6  girls that I'd be buying them for. I'm willing to put in the effort to find all the different styles. Just wanted to know if it's a good idea.

I think it is a cute idea. I really think the bright blue shoes will look great with black dresses!

I'm totally going to be the Debbie Downer here, and I apologize in advance. While I love the idea of it, how do you know that the shoes you pick for them are going to fit well and be comfortable? I don't know about anyone else, but depending on the shoe, I can range anywhere from a 6 1/2 to a 7 1/2. If I had to wear a shoe that was too tight for a whole wedding, I'd be miserable. Would you consider taking them shopping for the shoes so they can all try them on and decide what they each like best?
