Packing list for Moorea/Bora Bora

Hi! I was hoping some who have been there can help suggest a packing list.  I got bathing suits, cover ups, and summer dresses.  Did you wear heels or sandals?  Were you ever dressy or mostly casual?  Thanks!

Re: Packing list for Moorea/Bora Bora

  • Hi there!

We were in Bora Bora for a week at the St. Regis. I pretty much spent the day in sundresses or tunic type cover-ups, and sundresses for evening as well. I wore flip flops all week. I would pack a lot of dresses, maybe 2-3 cover ups and 1-2 pairs of shorts to wearwith a swimsuit, i brought a sunhat as well.

    Enjoy!!

<div>I overpacked.  I didn't wear at least 1/3 of what I brought.  I figured it was like some of the Caribbean resorts where you had to get dressed up and it was NOT like that.  DH wore shorts to dinner most nights.  Skirts, sundresses for you are perfect.  I did not wear heels....only sandals.  Honestly, it was too damn hot when we went to be all dressed up.  :D</div><div>
</div><div>We packed an inflatable mesh float.  One of my favorite things to do in Bora Bora was lounge in that in the lagoon.  I highly recommend.  We saw quite a few people who had similar water loungers/rafts.</div>

I just got back from the Cooks yesterday- used the list I pasted and everything worked out perfectly, and in fact, I probably overpacked. The only thing with the Cooks versus FP, though, is I didn't need as many nicer, "dress up" outfits. When I say dress up, I mean nicer sundresses. Absolutely do not wear heels, either! the locals make fun of the women who try to walk around on the pontoons in heels, avoiding the gaps in the wood or even getting their heels stuck in them!

[QUOTE]It was amazing! Aitutaki is gorgeous. I had serious doubts that it would like up to all of the islands in FP, but it did live up to it! I highly recommend traveling there, especially if someone is looking for a remote tropical getaway but wants to keep things at an overall better value. The NZD exchange rate was a serious cost saver.
